Played through the first couple areas of Mario + Rabbids and the first world and a half of Snipperclips. Both games are good, but Snipperclips can be a little frustrating because the way the characters move is a kinda floaty.

Sideways joycons are a little bit more useable than I expected. I’m not sure I would want to play something like Mario Kart on them, but for Snipperclips they seemed fine. The joycon ‘controller’ thing packaged with the console is hot trash. I’m finding myself preferring to just play with the joycons freeform than attached to that thing. I should probably get a Pro Controller, but I already dropped like $400 yesterday on this stuff, so another $60 was tough to swallow.

Haven’t played with just the tablet yet. Can confirm that the kickstand sucks though!

Finally started getting into Divinity: OS because of how good two looks.

Messed around with the Octopath Traveler demo for about half an hour. That game could be really good. It feels very much like a PS1 era 2D RPG. Hopefully the full game delivers.

for some reason this weekend I booted up FF15 in an attempt to get the platinum. I walk away two trophies short, a firmer belief that this game is bad at nearly everything it sets out to do, and an even deeper hatred for Dave, possibly the worst character in Final Fantasy history.

So I was looking at some Steam stats, and PUBG is one of the 10 best selling games on that platform ever. It also passed 1.5M concurrent players this weekend, 200k higher than Dota 2's peak.

unfortunately, fortnite does not feel great to play, especially the shooting and especially going between destiny 2 and overwatch which both feel phenomenal

Overwatch feels very good to jump into after some Destiny 2. all shooters should be 60fps (or more)

Finished the first world of Mario + Rabbids. That game is fun, though I do wish there was more character progression from fight to fight. A steady increase would be better than the plateaus you get.

New levels are out for Super Mario Run. You have to unlock each level in World Star by doing a challenge in one of the regular levels. Also there's a new micro-level mode called Remix 10, which throws you into ten pieces of levels at a time and eventually you can unlock playable Daisy.

SNES Classic out today. Sounds like they're not too tough to get. Feeling a bit less bad about not getting a pre-order because of that. Also because after watching the Quick Look this morning I realize there's only like 8 games on there I can actually see myself playing more than 5 minutes of, 5 of which I still own SNES carts for.

it depends on what you mean by toaster. if it's a bad laptop from 10 years ago, no. if it's any decent budget computer from the last five years, it really should run.
