Kinda the opposite for me with regard to their other stuff. I mean, okay, Miitomo is Miitomo, but I've played way more Mario Run than I expected, and while I'm nowhere near hardcore in Fire Emblem I still try to at least play few stages a week. Still kicking around a bit in Pokmon Go too, not a lot but I've gotten several of the Gen III ghosts at least.

Played a little more EO5. Looks like I've mapped most of floor 2. Does the demo cut you off at any specific point? I'd need to swap to the full version soon anyway as my guys are all level 8, but curious if there's a spot content-wise where it stops you.

I. Application

II. Activation

After you've successfully registered your account on ResetEra, the activation process begins. This means that the ResetEra staff will manually check your registration. Once approved, you'll be ready to actively participate in discussions. Account approval will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

Please note that the activation process is being done manually, and that it can take some time until your account is activated. Please refrain from contacting staff members about the approval process for your account outside of the forum. If you have any questions concerning the status of your approval, please contact us only at [email protected]. III. Junior status

After your account is approved, you'll begin as a Junior Member. This is your chance to prove your worth to the community and also the most critical period for the future of your account. If you break a rule as a junior member, you may be permanently banned which means you can no longer actively participate in discussions.

In order to move from being a Junior Member to a full Member, two conditions must be met: (1) 120 days must have passed since your account was approved and (2) you must have made at least 200 posts. Once these two conditions are met, your account will automatically be upgraded to Member status.

Verified Discord communities (of which there were roughly 100, with something like 5000 users among them) and OT creators were able to bypass this process. I'm not sure how they'll handle former GAF members who didn't manage to snag a life preserver over the weekend, though.

I got to the part in Xenoblade where I met this guy named Alvis. But because of the accents it always sounds like they're calling him Elvis. He's supposed to be this cool anime pretty boy but I keep expecting him to burst out into singing Burning Love.

Anyway Mario Odyssey comes out tomorrow so I'm probably going to drop this for now. I hope the game doesn't get like super awesome after this point of something.

I didn't even notice it my first playthrough because I was so enthralled with exploring every corner of the satorl marsh or wherever I was at that time.

my #1 takeaway with odyssey is "is this going to be conducive for young kids with limited gaming skills?". so far, it sounds like that might be a no when compared to 3D world which has no need to control a camera and an invincible suit to make things easy enough (while also not too easy - Isabella finally beat 3D world this week and had 986 deaths).

I think you're underestimating how easily kids can get lost in an open world environment.

When BotW came out, my kids did a pass and play deal whenever they died, and my niece was always able to extend her turns longer just by exploring the environment.

I don't know if there's any invincibility thing, but according to the GB review, there aren't lives and you aren't restarting a level if you die. Sounds like if you die you just go back to the nearest checkpoint and it seems like those are just scattered around through the levels.

it's the action stuff that gets her the most at this point, probably because she has the crutch of invincibility that she can lean on. when things get hectic she has a hard time.

anyway, I'm definitely getting odyssey whenever I get a switch. that's the big ask. getting one, a couple games and a controller is probably like $500.
