I'd put the 300 as a 5. Sure, they were a force to be reckoned with during that time, but there is the Archaic weaponry issue. Their abilities seem also in line for a 5, with being able to flat out ko someone randomly during the week, able to set a target against someone (which i figure would be a 6-7 (prioritzing highest upkeep first, if they are dropped to a 5)) I would like to see an upgrade for THIS IS SPARTA!!! with after rosters, if anyone on the opponent's roster used a damaging ability against your team, they can be preselected for THIS IS SPARTA!! for an additional week of cooldown. (They were the messenger)

Combat wise, in comparison to other people in the 4-6 range from mercs, they fare well against melee/light projectiles, are average against long range, and just get stomped against heavy ranged damage/aoe effects. Rocket launchers, Ultima, armstrong throwing landscape... but on the same note, the numbers and skill do grant their own unique advantages, like I'd give the 300 the advantage vs diablo, It'd depend on the map vs Master Chief, etc

300 as a 5 makes the most sense to me too.

Aang - Not familiar enough with him
Beast Boy - I'm thinking they'd overrun him, he's pretty stupid
Colossus - Spartans have nothing that can hurt him
Daenerys and Drogon - Not familiar
Deadpool - He'd win...probably. Assuming the mob rush doesn't get him. Movie version can't regen very fast
El Blanco - I had to check to see who this was. The Tremor worm? Haha, the Tremor Worm kills all of them, what are they gonna do to it
Guts - Murders em, he's too mean
He Man - Murders em, he's He-Man
Iceman - I have forgotten what this version of him actually does
Judge Dredd - Could be overrun, although I'm inclined to think he has enough experience with vast mobs of crazy people that he'd never let it happen
Juggernaut - *reads this again* So he's invincible for the first 30 seconds, then he automatically dies? Well he might win then, I've again forgotten all about the movie version of Juggy

Nix - Interesting one. They might be able to javelin him, but otherwise he'd hilariously earthquake the lot of them

Make Your Wishes (Pre-Battle) - Never fear, the Djinn is here to grant an opposing merc their every wish! Every three weeks, a preselected enemy merc will gain a boon, as randomly follows. Unfortunately Nate is kind of a dick when it comes to these things, but never tell them the bad part...

20% - The merc moves two times their normal speed. That merc will also be completely unable to stop their movement once they're going.

20% - The merc will slowly regenerate from any wounds inflicted. They will also be suffering from late stage cancer. If this ability strikes Deadpool, treat his existing cancer as going out of remission.

20% - The merc will revive once upon death! The merc will revive as a shambling, mindless zombie.

20% - The merc inherits great wealth. They will double their upkeep that day, including for tier purposes.

20% - The merc wishes to be AN ALL POWERFUL GENIE! The chosen merc will be replaced by Jafar that day (eligible for any tier). He will be under the effects of his own Itty Bitty Living Space ability. Demarest's owner may choose whether to use the upgraded version of it or not.

Upgrade

Ability Upgrade - Wishes may be rerolled once at its owner's behest.

New Ability

Three Wishes (Trigger) - Of course Demarest's long con is to get some chump to make three wishes overall, then he can unleash the Apocalypse. In Mercs terms that means use Armstrong's Shell ability as soon as...what do you mean no one wants to go through that again? Sigh, fine. If during the course of Mercs the same character is hit three times by Make Your Wishes, that merc may make a terrible choice. Their team will either suffer Jackass Genie Apocalypse and automatically lose that week, or they may injure themselves for an amount of weeks equal to their upkeep in a heroic effort to stop it. Nate is a fair and just douchebag.

The counter will reset when the choice is made.

Seriously though I think Spartan armor is largely bronze which isn't magnetic so that's helpful for them! The weapons I don't recall, maybe some mix of bronze and iron, or maybe all bronze or maybe all iron.

Spartans are 5s

Lu Bu vs the Spartans is the literal definition of 'Lu Bu SOLOS' and that fucker is a 4 (albeit one that you can sort of argue might be a 5 if you give him his SSJ form from DW Strikeforce). Their value as individual combatants is very very low compared to 5s. There is literally no way Ryu Hayabusa, Sora, Strider Hiryu, Ratchet, base Bass.EXE, Wesker, Dracula, Liquid, Cloud or Armstrong lose to them, and that's ten different 5/weeks I just listed who would mosh them. Their value is they provide a humongous wall of meat that will take a long time to die, offensively they are pretty much 0s against superhuman fighters.

Because Sora is the gatekeeper to 6/week. If you can beat Sora cleanly you're good enough for high tier, so it's a good benchmark for what upkeep the Spartans should be at. If it turns out Sora wins too clean we can do Ryu Hayabusa or Cloud or whatever. Who's the strongest 5 you think the Spartans can beat?

Static doesn't lose, the Terminator literally can't die, Jack would ginsu through them harder than Sora, Sing is probably literally immune to anything they can throw out, and so on

Like I think the better question is if a bunch of 3s can beat the Spartans - let's say Tidus, Magus and Lara Croft or Joel. Trying to fight a bunch of weaker dudes is much more in their wheelhouse than 'my tier's qualification is literally being an army soloer, go'.
