Well, watched Alice and Zoroku. That was a bit of an odd show. Bit more serious than I expected. For some reason I'd heard it was like half story-focused and half slice of life, but it was more like 80-90% story focused... Anyway, it was mostly pretty alright. Cast was pretty solid, and powers were cool. Main problem I had with the show was that Zoroku was kinda lame. Unlikable, and probably the least realistic character in the cast too (wtf was up with his "I hate crooked things" shtick anyways?). Didn't really enjoy much of anything he did. Ichijo was probably the most interesting of the bunch. Wish she'd gotten more screen time.

Aw yes got tickets to see A Silent Voice next month.

Living in the same town as a theater that plays literally every anime movie that comes stateside was one of the most unexpected benefits of moving to Ohio.

Some of them come out just a couple months after they come out in Japan too, which is what makes it strange (Madoka Rebellion and the Kizumonogataris, for example). I mean, I wouldn't have gone to see Madoka in theaters if it'd already come out on BD in Japan by then.

Caught up to a new manga I started called Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii

Slice of Life about a bunch of Otaku Office Workers. Really liked it.

If Princess Principal can stick its ending, which I admit I'm not completely confident in, I'll have been very satisfied with it overall as my favorite of the season. Though I have only watched it, Hero Academia, and Tsurezure Children, so that's not saying that much. And a bit of Fate/Apocrypha before dropping that one. Not a strong season.

I mentioned this like three weeks ago, but this is basically the most 7/10 season to ever exist, which I'm actually happy with. But if your definition for strong is having a standout masterpiece, then yeah I see where you're coming from.

This is pretty much me lmao. I watched 9 episodes of Tsuki ga Kirei recently, and can't be bothered to watch another even though I generally liked it. Other than that and like 4-5 episodes of Gintama, I don't think I've watched an anime since spring? Whenever I watched Flip Flappers I think, which was quite a few months ago.

Oh right. Just looked at my MAL and I tried to watch Hanayamata recently as well. Got 5 episodes in and already completely blocked all memory of it from my mind evidently >.>

Wow, if you think the first half is AotY candidate then you're in for a treat.

I thought the first half was pretty dull all things considered, but then again, some of the things I liked about the second half, you might end up not liking.

Probably the #1 thing is Magane's amazingness. She's like a Nisio character or something. She's fantastic. Disappointed she hasn't really shown up for a couple eps.

I've hit the halfway point for Re:Creators too, both hate and love Magane, the latter because her interactions make the former so perfect. Though not really AotY status, or even AotLS... considering... Well... It's kinda only an interesting concept outside of that. Interactions of characters are fairly great but the protag's stuff was... too heavy for anyone to carry.

In other news... 3 seasonal shows finished, one from last season (Sagrada Reset, Love and Lies, and Hina Logi) so far. Can't wait to be done with this season honestly... Guess I should be starting to look at next one too.

If you want an honest answer as to the lack of love for shows like Abyss, Creators, and Princess Principal, the answer is pretty simple. All of those shows carry the same handicap; Amazon.

My understanding is that there is a not too small number of people who refuse to pirate shows they could legally watch, me being one of them, but unlike me they don't actually have those other services. As such, they'll download Apocrypha, but they won't download Re:Creators even though they don't have Anime Strike.

I've already explained why I don't think Abyss is very good and it inspired no discussion.

ReC was always a back of mind show, not spectacular, but not bad. Never felt compelled to actually discuss it.

But I will post final thoughts on everything once the season is over.

I want to say that even some "famous" anime youtubers like Glass Reflection (I mention him because he's been very outspoken about only watching anime by legal means not because I particularity like him). Have expressed annoyances at Netflix's model and Amazon's expenses. Like he'll never say to go pirate something, but his tone says he understands why people would, even if they are already paying for other services because of how backwards their models are.

Oh man I guess it's two weeks until I make my triumphant return to anime-watching then.

If it's anything like the last season where I watched airing anime then I will stop watching everything that I had started by week 2, so we'll see what happens this time.

As for streaming WAY too many places are getting into it. Disney wants their own shit now and WB or something is making one for Young Justice S3 which is like only happening because being put on Netflix created more buzz for wanting another season. I can't blame them all wanting in on money, but who the fuck wants 20 different subs to streams :/

This title kinda confuses me because I usually see people use bitch kinda the same way they would use slut which is obviously the opposite of how I picture a faithful virgin

What is all this bullshit about Re:Creators having a good concept? The concept was dumb as hell, which is why it got way better once they figured out how to have fun with it.
