He said he doesn't eat it because of health reasons.

That doesn't necessarily mean that's the case, my girlfriend eats well down because "health reasons" and by that she's scared she'll get sick from "undercooked" meat.

That's not the point. He said that he doesn't like steak. You countered this with some BS claim that he'd enjoy it more if he didn't burn it. It doesn't matter whether or not he burns it. He still wouldn't like it.

I'd like to clarify I actually meant "I eat it FOR health reasons", not "I don't have it less cooked because of health reasons". But can see the ambiguity of my post.
But my main gripe about steak is the 'rubbery' textured parts, so by over-cooking it those parts are not only less 'rubbery' but generally much easier to remove. As for the main parts of the steak, I prefer it firmer as opposed to soft and juicy, so cooking it longer also helps with that.

Sorry for the confusion.

Ahh but... that's not true. I used to eat steak well done, and didn't like it or how chewy it was.

Then I started trying medium-well with better cuts of steak. And it was so much more tender. Now I like med rare to med well depending on the cut.

Overcooking makes steak more rubbery. If your steak has a bunch of bits that stay overly firm unless well cooked you need to try different cuts, it's probably not a good steak to begin with.

Depends on the quality of the meat and how much I trust the place cooking it. I prefer rare, but I usually order medium rare, which is what I voted. I don't order anything cooked past that. If I don't trust a place with a medium rare steak, then I don't trust them with steak, period.
