Cybat: It has kind of a weird face with the markings and whiskers but I mean it's a cat.

ctes: Litten is a great basic form, it looks cute, but not just cute, it has that interesting look to it. I like it and it's too bad its evolutions are lacking.

Brayze_II: I can’t tell if this is supposed to be funny

Luster Soldier: This new cat Pokemon is pretty cute. It's the lowest ranked of the 3 starters simply because it finds itself outclassed by Rowlet and Popplio.

Paratroopa1: yeah in any other gen litten probably gets top half honors but here sorry litten you are
just kind of beside the point when everything in this game is fucking great

Cybat: I know "if only you were faster" is basically the theme of this gen, but this guy really exemplifies it. He has such a striking design that I had to keep him on my team, but it was a struggle training him.

XIII: I used it, so I have loyalty to it. I don't like the late-game evolution, but it's really fun to use.

Raka_Putra: Just look at it!

swordz9: Awesome looking bug that is way too slow what the hell

ctes: Vikavolt is pretty cool looking. I really do like its design and man does its thunderbolt hit hard. It gets a high placement, but it's a bit held down by the limited amount of time you can use it in game. It's completely ridiculous you get it on Pony Island. And while its special attack is insane and hits super hard, I'm not fond of when a Pokemon completely switches its superior offensive stat upon evolution. You basically have to build a new set at that point, so thank god for infinite TMs. Also the speed is a joke. This thing looks like it should be insanely fast and not only is it now that, it's incredibly slow. The flaws keep it from the top, but it's a great Pokemon.

StifledSilence: Its design is both really cool and really strange. Great special attack.

hotdogturtle: When this was revealed it instantly reminded me of a gen 5 Pokemon for some reason. I feel like you could put it next to Scolipede, Galvantula, Volcarona, Accelgor, Escavalier, etc and it would fit right in. This is a compliment by the way; the only reason I can't rank it higher is because it actually sucks.

Brayze_II: nothing personnel, kid

mnkboy907: lol wow, that speed. Neat design and good on them for changing the early Bug formula up again.

Inviso: This is cool enough, but it's weird to say the middle cocoon form of a Bug-type is more fun than its final form.

Luster Soldier: Despite sharing the same typing of Galvantula, I was hoping Vikavolt would be a physical attacking counterpart to Galvantula. Instead, it's another special attacker. The huge special attack is the only good thing it even has, because it's terribly slow. I remember the low speed being such a letdown for a lot of people because the design gave it the impression that it would have a good speed stat. The low speed would be a common trend among many of the new Pokemon from this generation.

Paratroopa1: yeah, it's good, but it's no charjabug. why the FUCK did you rank this thing like 50 (Steiner note: 37, actually) spots above charjabug? this is an outrage. JUSTICE FOR CHARJABUG

At least Ribombee keeps on truckin. Though he's probably gone next :(

Luster Soldier: Between Cutiefly and Ribombee, I think Ribombee is even cuter, although I could see some people preferring Cutiefly instead. At least Ribombee is wearing a scarf, which is a nice touch to its design. For in-game use, Ribombee was a very appealing option for a playthrough because of the extremely high base speed of 124. When a large number of the new Pokemon are fairly slow, Cutiefly/Ribombee really stood out with their high speed. The high speed was a valuable asset when playing through the game, since Pokemon with a higher speed are much more likely to be successful in running away from a wild Pokemon battle.

ctes: Ribombee is quite possibly the most positive surprise I've ever had from a teammate. I was not expecting Ribombee to be worth much, but it's absolutely fantastic. One of the very best in-game Pokemon to use. Its spped tier alone makes it that, but it's great beyond that. Its sweeping capabilities are so great and access to Quiver Dance on top of a very great offensive movepool is fantastic. It looks harmless, but it's deadly. The pleasant surprise was so fantastic, but it misses out on the very best spots because its design did make me ignore it at first. I ended up using it because I randomly grinded against wild Pokemon with Cutiefly for a while looking for Bagon and thought it was pretty good and that I might as well add another one to the team with the EXP share being broken. Most of my favorite Pokemon I liked right away. Still, very great Pokemon!

Raka_Putra: Surprisingly good to use

PrinceKaro: The best bug type pokemon ever.

Cybat: I'm a sucker for signature moves, and Pollen Puff is a good one, both for gameplay and for flavor. Its design and name are a little weird, but its charm (and fun typing) gets it this far.

MrSmartGuy: Fun fact: add the idea of bombs to anything and it instantly gets better.

hotdogturtle: Ribombee was the surprise hit of playing ingame. It's blazing fast but also has high special attack and learns several good moves early. It really shines for the first 80% of the game. It just falls off by the end and never really recovers after that.

Inviso: It's just as awesome as Cutiefly, but it's stronger 'cause it's fully evolved!

Inviso: Highest Alolan form mostly because I already love Ninetales and this form didn't fuck up the design. Honestly, it's probably a BETTER design (with a less generic typing), but nostalgia would still put the original version higher for me.

Luster Soldier: If I had to use only one Alolan Pokemon for my in-game team, Vulpix/Ninetales is what I would have chosen. The Fairy type given to Alolan Ninetales sold me on this Pokemon and it's also a design improvement over regular Ninetales as well.

ctes: Now this is what I'm talking about. Very great Alolan form. Typing is pretty cool except for an unfortunate 4x weakness to steel. It's a great hail setter. If hail was in any way good, this would be OU for sure. Sadly, it isn't because hail does nothing but minimal damage to non ice-types, so you can't make a hail team. Fun to use for the minimal part of the game you can.

Cybat: It's basically just a palette swap of Ninetales but hey guess what Ninetales is great, so here we are. Aurora Veil is really neat too.

Paratroopa1: ugh FUCK I feel really stupid about putting ninetales this high but like... it's pretty, ok? IT'S PRETTY. DON'T JUDGE ME. THIS DOESN'T MEAN I'M COOL WITH YOUR FOX AGENDA
