You could sell stuff on eBay but by the time it gets bought and arrives to the buyer and your money is cleared, the 12 days might be over anyway. Maybe Amazon is quicker, but I've never sold there so I don't know

I miscounted; it's actually only 11 days. (I thought today was Saturday whoops)

I have food now to last until probably Wednesdayish, so really it's only a week that I need to worry about.

And I honestly have literally no one but myself to blame <_< I bought a bed recently that I sooo did not have the money for. It ended up being more expensive than I thought it was going to be because of moving costs. (I could've sworn I made a topic about this but I can't find it)

I might go see if there's a plasma donation place nearby. I could probably get a few dollars doing that once or twice this week.

This. Food banks will generally let anyone go. You can get nutritious things like peanut butter, cereal, powdered milk, pasta, rice, canned vegetables, etc. Enough to last you a couple weeks. This is why they exist.

Hmm, I might look into this in my college town because there's usually a week or two every year where I end up not eating for 3-4 days, but for right now I'm going to try the plasma donation thing. Thanks for the idea, though!

Man I love pasta so much. Probably my favourite thing ever, and I haven't been eating it much since I started calorie counting :( Not saying I wouldn't eat it if I had nothing else to eat, mind you. Just saying this post made me crave some good pasta

One loaf of sliced breed $1 (can get it cheaper on sale some places). That is enough for 3 slices per day for a week. You could get 2 of them for $2 (or if you can finda buy one get one free or them on sale for 50cents, for 1$.

That leaves you 3$ left over for stuff to put in it.

You can still get cans of tuna fish for 25 cents. You can get mayonase packets from many fast food places for free (to mix in with the tuna). So you could get 7 cans of tuna for $1.75

Each can of tuna can make 3 sandwiches (6 pieces of bread) so far that is $2.75-3.75 depending on how much you pay for the bread.

As mentioned many time ramen are a good bet here, but you want to get them in bulk if possible, and on sale. You can get them for as little as 10cents each that way. I think you can get an 8 pack pretty easy for $1.

That leaves you with between 25 cents and 1.25 left over, gives you 3 sandwiches a day and a soup. Not great, but it'll keep you alive. The money you have left over could buy you a 12 pack of eggs from safeway rightnow (and often other places) as they have a dozen eggs on sale for 99 cents. That could let you have 2 eggs each morning for breakfast as well. Total net cost, about $4.

Half price that is 8 for $2.50....a bit more then 25 cents each. You can often get coupons that discount it more though.

Anyway, with just the above deal at safeway, and either the buy $150 or more worth of groceries and get 20% off your entire order OR the get 10$ off an order of $50 or more (so you buy just 50$ and net 20% off), your total price for 16 cans (with buy one get one free...which they have often), is $4.

400/16 = exactly 25 cents each.

That is still without any coupons, which you can often get another $1 or so, but anyway, that is how you can easily, and fairly often stock up on Tuna for 25 cents a can.

Should be mentioned this is for the small cans, can make maybe 3 sandwiches with it (long as you don't need a ton on each sandwich), 2 full sized sandwiches though.

I'm sure things are more expensive in some other countries, but anywhere with a safeway nearby in the US can pretty much get Tuna for 25 cents a can, as long as you don't mind waiting a month or two to stock up.

Unless you are literally living on tuna (like the TC might be for a week), just the 16 cans you would get would last most people until the next sale though. It's been....3 weeks? Since the last $10 off 50$ or more deal at my local safeway for instance, I expect another (or the 20% off 150 or more) in the next week or two. Don't think I have seen it ever go more then 2 months without one or the other.

Wolfy your numbers are extremely optimistic and make a lot of assumptions on prices, location, sale availability, etc. And shipping internationally is absolutely not cheaper in any circumstance.

Most of the time, if you can find a good deal nearby, use it. But for most folks, it's gonna be ramen all day every day. Not good for you at all but you won't starve.
