Luster Soldier: A cute Pokemon that actually manages to become worse upon evolving. If the evolution wasn't so terrible looking, I probably would have given some consideration to this Pokemon as a possible option for my playthrough team. Despite being cute, this Pokemon is on the lower end of my list because the fully evolved form sucks.

Brayze_II: nobody cares about morelull

ctes: Morelull is… dull. Night version of Paras, apparently. It's fine really, somewhat forgettable. I don't really care for it. Somewhat low placement, but above all the garbage.

Raka_Putra: Creepier than you'd think.

Paratroopa1: if they merchandised this thing as a desk lamp I'd probably buy it. cmon pokemon company I'm pretty sure I've got a hot seller on my hands here

StifledSilence: For being a Nintendo franchise, Pokemon has dropped the ball big time with mushrooms up until now. But I like this one.

Raka_Putra: James Wan's Shiinotic

Inviso: Cute design, but it's pretty weak and surpassed by better options.

Cybat: Reminds me of the mushroom enemies from Bravely Default. The whole bioluminescent aspect of its design doesn't come across very well but it's pretty interesting looking (and hey, not poison!)

ctes: Shiinotic has a fine typing imo, but it sucks big time. It looks pretty terrible and it's stats are awful. A beyond trash speed tier us compromised by… nothing. Literally has no use.

swordz9: Looks pretty dumb, but I like the sinister Pokedex entry

Luster Soldier: A Fairy type Pokemon that's actually awful. Not something that I would usually say considering I like most Fairy type Pokemon. Shiinotic has 2 main problems that make it awful. It's not a cute Pokemon and the face looks very weird and off-putting.

OrangeCrush: I think it's high on itself!

Brayze_II: this pokemon is a dumb idiot

Inviso: Decent enough, but it's Geodude. It's always JUST above average in terms of design. That's all it's got, really.

mnkboy907: Gee, the pre-evos of the Alola forms sure are basic.

ctes: The idea to make this rock/electric is very sad. Gound was absolutely the type to keep and I would've loved this line. But just like Tyranitar, rock is apparently the favorable type of the two. Game Freak likes rock way more than they should. Now it's a pretty bad combination. Well, it looks fine, but not too good. Meh design.

swordz9: Manlier Geodude

Luster Soldier: The previously unknown typing of Rock/Electric was finally scratched off the list when Alolan Geodude was revealed. The design overall is neither an improvement or downgrade from regular Geodude. And those things above the eyes on Alolan Geodude's head, I have no idea what they could be.

Raka_Putra: What an odd looking fella. Rock/Electric is a nice type to have though.

Cybat: So it's just Geodude after a Cactuar attack? Ok.

MrSmartGuy: For this one, I'm visualizing a big pink glob materializing out of a pair of oxford shoes. That'd make for a no-brainer top 10 Pokemon.

hotdogturtle: Gumshoos is potentially really interesting, but lacks the stats to become good. Stakeout, aside from being flavorful, offers a massive 2x damage boost on a Pokemon that switches in. The problem is that Gumshoos isn't threatening enough to force Pokemon out, so you'll rarely get to use it. The best you can do is Yawn gimmicks to try to force switches, but some Pokemon might stay in anyway knowing that Gumshoos can't do much. You could go for consistency with Strong Jaw for a boosted Hyper Fang and Crunch instead, but it's still nothing special. It's too bad because 110 attack is actually halfway decent for a route 1 Normal type, there's just nothing else there.

Luster Soldier: Like with Yungoos, this Pokemon also has some resemblance to Donald Trump in appearance. On design alone, Gumshoos looks more like Donald Trump than Yungoos and that's because Gumshoos is depicted as being bipedal. Anyways, I was never a fan of these Pokemon to begin with and it's got nothing to do with Donald Trump himself. The designs just aren't that great.

Brayze_II: stakeout is a really cool ability but gumshoos is too shit to use it

ctes: Gumshoos continues bad tradition of annoying traditional two stage normal type lines, you're introduced to right away every generation. And it's bad even by those awful standards. Bibarel and Diggersby are both complete ass, but are at least somewhat unique with their typings. Raticate was the original, which helps it, Furret looks decent and Linoone actually is decent. So this one competes with Watchog for the worst of... the worst, basically. People thought of Trump when they saw this if you wanted any idea of how bad it then must be, even if that's most certainly not on purpose. Gumshoos becomes the most annoying of all and gets a trash placement beucase it's not just early it's there in your face all the time, it's super common the whole darn game.

Luster Soldier: Cute Pokemon that shares the feminine look of the final evolution Primarina, while somewhat retaining the derpy look of Popplio. In relation to Popplio and Primarina, this Pokemon is stuck in an awkward spot since it's very much overshadowed by Primarina and even Popplio as well. In terms of design, it's inferior to both Popplio and Primarina. Popplio is much cuter than Brionne, while Primarina outclasses it by being even more feminine.

Cybat: Weird name, but the design actually is a very apt middle between Popplio and Primarina. Don't see that much with such big design changes.

StifledSilence: I love Rattata as is. But even though this is a step back, I still dig the evil moustache.

PrinceKaro: This is like one of the designers took a black marker and doodled a mustache on a picture of a rattata and called it a new form.

Paratroopa1: I had this weird moment in my rankings where I realized that I actually appreciated rattata WAY MORE than I thought I did and I don't even really understand why, like that was a really long con worming your way into my heart rattata but good job you did it. hey look, a moustached pokemon I don't hate! it's a miracle

mnkboy907: Little bandito Rattata! Could probably be a little higher in hindsight but I just don't care enough to mess with it.

Raka_Putra: Cooler than the usual one.

Inviso: Generic Dark-type that looks cuter than its evolved form and didn't waste my time as long as Raticate did.

Luster Soldier: I never cared about Rattata in the first place, and this hasn't changed one bit with the Alolan Form.

ctes: This exists for the sole purpose of having common trash that's dark to supply common trash that's normal for the important day/night Sun/Moon mechanic. It's cheap to use an old Pokemon for one of those two really. Rattata isn't great to begin with and this one just looks super weird and stupid making the original look good in comparison.

Raticate-A - I would have liked it better if it were more like a dark version of the old Raticate. The extra fatness was unnecessary, and they somehow took a Pokemon with horrible stats and redistributed them in an even worse way.

Persian-A - Fur Coat is great. Persian is also fast enough to do some tricky stuff with Parting Shot and some other status moves. I don't like the head either but I don't care what it looks like when it can do unique things like that.

Bruxish - It's a cool tropical fish befitting of the island setting. I don't get people's criticism of the design, it looks fine to me.

Cybat: Doesn't give much hint as to what you're in for with Muk, but still looks distinct enough. Poison/Dark is a good typing too, especially ingame.

ctes: I don't really mind Grimer's design, but it's not particularly interesting to begin with, it gets a pretty good ranking considering it's NFE.

Luster Soldier: Not much of a huge change from regular Grimer. All they did was give it 2 teeth and a patch of yellow around the mouth area. For whatever reason, Alolan Grimer is notably heavier than regular Grimer (66.1 lbs vs. 92.6 lbs) even though I can't see any differences in their designs which would contribute to that kind of weight increase for Alolan Grimer.

I grabbed an Alolan Grimer on a whim near the start of my Sun run and I'm really glad I did. Thing put in a lot of work, especially in Totem battles. I feel like maybe I ranked it too low, but it's not exactly a great design so eh.

Yeah, this is mostly holding me back in the outlier rankings at this point so far. Seems like a lot of the cute Pokemon that I do have high on my list will probably get eliminated in the 50-79 range.
