Indeed, shaman bone blade is the way to go, just get the first sharkguy halfway dead and poke him with the bone blade and watch the two of them do your work for you

figured my attention was needed elsewhere and went back to old Laurence
and he wasnt very fun
I could never get a a proper pattern down for dodging and attacking him down, I visceral'd him once and I have no idea how
his attacks are all over the place and the fighting arena doesnt give much freedom of movement either
I had less trouble with the second phase, had to heal more, but he didnt move around so much and it was easier to hit him
I'd put him down as tougher than Maria and Living Failures, but it took me less tries than Ludwig
only one DLC challenge left

also there's Gehrman, but I fear the ship has sailed on him still being a challenge

Probably, yeah. He'll surprise you with a few attacks but i doubt it will take you many tries.

Orphan is the real final boss of Bloodborne I feel, at least as far as challenge goes

amygdala was way more difficult with the kirkhammer than i remember her ever being in the past. Or maybe i just lost my gud and need to regain it. I used all my blood vials and only got a lucky hit off on her face to kill

I woulda thought the vertical attacks of the hammer would make it easy to hit its head or arms

I instinctively used roll r1 attacks a lot and kept forgetting that the hammer's is very short ranged. Plus the animations take so long, I was getting really punished for that.

Amygdala challenged my usual playstyle too really, having to use the extended weapon is not really my forte and the camera didnt help me see when I needed to dodge his attacks

I didn't have any problems with the dog on my first time through the dungeons, and I couldn't understand why everyone hated him. Turns out I musta gotten lucky, because last time I tried to fight him I got my ass handed to me. So yeah fuck that dog

Chalice Amygdala and Paarl are the absolute worst still, you spend more time fighting the camera

it helped to kill his initial swarm and then wack at it for the first and second phases

meanwhile I realized I missed all the materials for a different chalice (the one you get from Amygdala) and had to kill dozens in the Frontier just to get those flowerbuds

Yeah that's the ailing loran weapon, but the pellets will increase your dps no matter what weapon you're using.

and yeah beast blood pellets give you the beasthood effect. you have a potential beast meter that can fill up more and more each time you attack. the effect of the meter is that you deal more damage AND you take more damage from incoming attacks. the size of the meter is determined by your beasthood stat.

if you have the beast claws equipped you are considered to always have the beasthood effect, and you do not need to use beast blood pellets.

that was the most intense thing I have ever played through
I am typing this with my hands still trembling
That first phase of Kos was tough, but not too difficult once you know most of his moves, know that he staggers a lot after a set amount of damage, and also immediately retialiated with a flurry of attacks or a massive jump once the staggering passed
at first he ran through my vials too fast, but eventually I made it with more then a dozen left..
to get to the second phase

man, that dude just never stops.. jumping, hitting, screaming
I reached it only three times, and I had to use the boltpaper, but I defeated him on the third go
it was mostly me running and dodging and hoping for a chance to get a few hits in, he liked to jump and spam that blood rain attack a lot
I didnt see the explosion of energy in the final round, but I did in an earlier pass, and I at least know I cvould survive that if I stayed away

man, Ludwig may have been the coolest and the one who killed me the most, but Kos was the most memorable

Defeating abhorrent beast was one of my favorite moments, definitely a highlight of the chalice dungeons

He's fun to fight once you get his movements down but damn it's tough

well saved my file to a USB stick
challenged Gehrman and while he was tricky, my damage output and defense was just too much at this point
Moon Presence was even easier

dungeons and newgame+ are still there, but I dont feel like taking them on right away

in hindsight I wish I saved more videos of my succesful runs (only kept footage from Laurence and Kos)

Then I will use one of these final posts to congratulate you on your success at Bloodborne. This was a good time.

I hope you give Dark Souls a shot, you can start with 3 if you don't wanna play the older games, but those are still very much worth playing as well. The whole series is fantastic, including Demon's Souls. So if you're looking for another fun adventure, pick one of them.
