There are a lot of weapons that benefit from both strength and dexterity, only slightly favoring one. There's no way to reset your stats in bloodborne, so you'd have to come to grips with having 'wasted' levels should you want to use one of the few weapons that don't scale off both stats.

Beat the Shadows of Yharnam (in one try)
another tense-quickonyourfeet kinda fight
killed the mage first, then the guy who decided to put his sword on fire, and finally the guy with a bad case of snakes
Ludwigs blade helped a little once it was just one guy, but I preferred Cleaving for the trio/duo

inversely
fuck this fucking asshole in this lunarium building with his fucking snakes, fucking spells and fucking cane
I was getting so impatient I just decided to use the summon in the room, because jesus

...in hindsight I could have lured him outside for more open space, but still

also bugs, great

I also checked out the Lecture Building, I did know how to get there at least, and opened a path to Nightmare Frontier
also know one of the nearest bosses is Rom and I know what its death will do, but I dont want to start the bloodmoon phase just yet

I felt like Dark Souls 3 was much harder than Bloodborne in terms of killing bosses. I one shot I think just 1 boss in DS3. I think like 4 or 5 in BB.

Technically you can still do that and get that ending. In fact you get a version of a rune only if you do fight her now. (You still get other tiers from different places.)

There is something else you can permanently miss, though. If you miss both that and this, then you're locked out.

I figured
anyway I explored as much as she let me, and she locked the doors again
and she still's pretending she's helping these people after I saw a few of her 'patients' already (poor poor cannibal)

next I finished exploring the hyperbolic gaol (screw spelling that correctly) and battled Darkbeast Paarl
he killed me the first time, was letting him control the flow of the fight too much and acted a little too timid
second round I repeated my clericbeast/vicar strategy of ramming my swords down their throat
I even managed to stagger him and visceral him twice, somehow.. I didnt plan on that

its dead now, time to see if Durja still hates me

probably the guy behind the door in the lecture building (another odd location, I keep hearing monsters that arent there)

You can also hear a baby crying periodically at 60.

I wouldn't worry too much about your insight, frenzy will suck no matter what. The best way to deal with the lanterns (the big brain bitches) is to just parry them, since the invincibility frames during your riposte will negate the damage from the frenzy burst.

Parrying them is tricky though, and you'll most certainly die if you miss your shot. But taking the time to learn their parry window (don't shoot when they open their arms, wait a second until they're almost upon you) will save you a lot of headache.

Hmmm I never risked the parry with them. Always just approached with caution, then while making sure my health was topped off, I'd charge in and wail on em. I'd have to tank the frenzy but I could usually kill them before they got their attack off.

yeah their grab has a slow wind up time. if you have enough DPS you can put them down before they grab you. this almost always gives you time to take a sedative before the frenzy meter finishes filling up. and even if it doesn't you haven't taken any damage yet so it just sets you to whatever small % health, with the lantern dead.

I always just found it easier to parry them, then you don't even have to use a sedative because you won't take damage from frenzy.

It's not difficult to learn, they only have the one attack

The parry strat for the brains can actually backfire on success if you have too much frenzy resistance because you'll finish the animation before it ticks.

This only takes 15 (and it adds new attacks). Might become more pronounced, though.

whew
went back to the nightmare frontier to clear that loose end
Amygdala was more of a pain than I expected
First I thought to go for the legs, but those werent his weak points, targeting the arms with cleavers normal form didnt hit a lot and attacking with ludwigs blade was too slow. Camera didnt help often either
I realized I had to switch up tactics and moved to using the extended saw cleaver form (I mean i could have upgraded other weapons, but that'd take too long)
He still got me about 4 times,
once because I wasnt used to his attacks
once because I was too slow to avoid his jumps each time and didnt realize the sweetspot was not directly underneath him.
Once because I under-estimated the damage of his headbutt and forgot to heal before the boss
And once because I misjudged where its lasers explosions would head
5th time was the charm, and hitting its head enough let me do a visceral. doing enough damage to shorten the phase where he attacks me with his own arm (geez)

One more boss down

inversely Rom went down without too much suffering
he got me once with a meteorstorm out of nowhere from his .. well.. abdomen
doesnt look like much of a spider either, his divebombing minions do though and they hit hard, the second time I died because one of the webbed me up for the other attackers
third time I killed Rom, shouldnt have spent so much time and bladeswinging on the respawning flunkies
even then one last divebomber killed me before Rom's death animation finished

still, time for a bloodmoon
