A revolving door of people the child gets to know and care about and never see again. that's hard on children having what are essentially parental figures ripped from their lives over and over. No kid needs to "toughen up" over that. Then there's the flip side of letting these partners spend time unsupervised when they should not be around children, causing issues, and shitty parents that value dating over the safety and stability of their children. A revolving door of people the child gets to know and care about and never see again. that's hard on children having what are essentially parental figures ripped from their lives over and over. No kid needs to "toughen up" over that. Then there's the flip side of letting these partners spend time unsupervised when they should not be around children, causing issues, and shitty parents that value dating over the safety and stability of their children. The relationship should be pretty solid before meeting the kids. and it should be a gradual introduction. Any kid who naturally lets these random people that their parents are DATING (not marrying) become close to them and seen as "parent" figures is seriously weak minded and stupid. And "ripped from their lives"? Are you serious? That's incredibly melodramatic. None of my dad's exes were "ripped from my life" and caused me to go into depression or something. I knew who my natural parents were and they were the only 2 parental figures I needed. Why the hell would I get a 3rd "parent" telling me what to do?
