Which past Big Brother cast member did you like most: OMG It would have to be Frankie Grande! I love how he played the game. Even after they found out his sister was famous he played it off so well! If I had been on his season I swear we would have been two peas in a pod! I loved how much fun he was and how he always talked to the cameras.

Up through S3E6 now.

I'm very into the Hyunmin/Dongmin power couple, though I have a hard time seeing them go all the way given how blatant their alliance is now.

I don't think I'm digging this season as much as you did, Naomi. It's still better than S2 so far, but the cast is very subdued. It makes the games more strategic, but it's also less fun because most of these guys have the personality of a rock. I'm also not crazy about the reusing of death matches again after we got new ones most of the time last season. Of the seven players left, I barely have any idea who Yoohyun is, and had Jongbeom not been in the previous death match, the same probably could have been said for him as well. The girls are...alright, but they're both pretty dippy. If there's one criticism I have of this show, it's that the female cast members tend to not be that great. Across all three seasons, Kyungran is really the only one who leaves a positive impression imo.

So yeah, halfway through - 1 > 3 > 2 for season rankings. The back half of 3 would have to be really good to overtake 1.

i think overall s1 has the strongest cast (of 1/2/3), but i feel stronger for several members of 3 over 1. the only people in two that i cared much about were sangmin, jinho, and junghyun.

3 doesn't really have anyone I like over Jinho and Sangmin, but those two are kind of untouchable. I could see Dongmin and Hyunmin being just below them by the time the season wraps up, though, depending on how things go. No disagreeing about S2 though, I don't think there was a single newbie I was really rooting for - though Junghyun was probably the closest.

I think part of it also might be the fact that I'm pretty hyped for S4, so in some ways S3 just feels like a road block I need to get through to get to the next season. I know that's not really fair to S3, though.

I wouldn't be super upset with anyone as the winner, but I think Hyunmin easily played the best out of the three, so I'm rooting for him.

Season 3 beated.

Dongmin is a really good winner, though I was really hoping Hyunmin would take it, especially after the lopsided advantage distribution. The actual advantages ended up not making a huge difference, though I think Dongmin knowing so many of the cards in the RPS game helped him a ton. It was definitely the best finals of any of the three seasons.

As far as season 3 overall goes, it was good, but still not as good as S1 for me. A lot of the characters fell flat and there weren't as many 'fun' moments. I'm also a little mixed on the format changes. I think the black garnet idea was good and I like it a lot better than the token of immortality, but I also didn't like that regular garnets kind of became useless. I get that S2 had an issue with garnet distribution, but this season they were completely pointless until the last game, and they were able to easily subvert the whole "garnets disappear after the death match" thing. The games this season were a mixed bag too...there were a lot of reused death matches, and I think some of the main matches actually got a little too complex for their own good (looking at you Middle Race). I prefer the games to have simple rules with interesting interactions, rather than having complicated rules that lead to a complicated game.

Looking forward to S4, I don't know the cast yet, but given the normal male/female distribution and trying to represent all three seasons equally, here's my cast prediction.

I think if you miss any of Jinho/Sangmin/Dongmin/Hyunmin, you made a huge casting mistake. Kyungran is still the best female contestant, and the Sunggyu/Sangmin relationship is too good to pass up. Yuram is there mostly to fill the female quota, but I think she's still one of the stronger women to play. The season 2 offerings are tougher. I feel like Yohwan/Jinho is an okay interaction to see again, Hongchul is fun enough, and the two women are there because someone needs to make it, and Yoonsun got cut too early imo. The last two spots for S3 could go a bunch of ways, I think Dongmin and Hyunmin are the only two real slam dunks.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Gura, Junghyun or Hweejong to show up in the cast either. I'll probably watch the first episode tonight sometime an see how wrong I am!

Also bring back that Moby song from S1 & 2, I miss it.

Watched S4E1 this morning.

Got 8/13 right, not too bad. I way overestimated how many women they would bring back, but they did get pretty much everyone important. Sunggyu is the only exclusion I'm a little upset by, I really would have liked to see him again. As for the randos, I don't mind seeing Junseok again, he's an interesting player, and Junghyun is a fine choice too (not that he's really a rando). Jungmoon and Yoohyun are kind of whatever, but I'm fine with them. No idea why they brought back Kyunghoon, that dude is still awful and is the only real turd on the cast.

First episode was really good. The main match was a good start, and Sangmin is still amazing. I like that garnets are important again, and I like the new death match format a lot. A little sad to see Junghyun go first, but I had a feeling he was going to get left behind in a cast like that, which is why I didn't initially include him in my prediction.

Also S3 had a JT/Stephen ending and I was super glad about it. I'm a sucker for amazing endings. Best finale, maybe my favorite winner (also love Sangmin, and obvs Jinho is really good). The two-man alliance of two super strong players tearing through a huge numbers disadvantage all while having massive targets on their back...
surviving largely due to their own skill (and Yeonjoo's lack of confidence :-( ).

S4 has a fantastic cast, as far as returning players go, they got basically all the staples. Sunggyu the only missing one but he was a pretty big catch anyway I wasn't surprised he didn't come back.

- Love her approach to the game, her calm demeanor, might get identified as too big of a threat by being too well-rounded

Jessica
- Way more self-aware than I expected, I like that she's a fan playing up an archetype for her benefit instead of being just an archetype and I like that she knows showmances are detrimental

Elena
- 'i hate showmances but i might consider one'. She seems like a bit of a watered down Christmas in terms of strategy. I think she'll be better around people or offering her thoughts in DRs about people she doesn't like but the interview wasn't a slam dunk. Don't know if I'll like her or not but I lean towards slightly yes

Raven
- she lost me at arkansassy. she will never be able to control herself to play the way she wants to and i want her gone asap rocky. somehow i feel like she'll win first hoh and it'll all go downhill from here. update from end of video: i started warming up to her a little bit by the end what is happening?!?

Dominique
- it's like they figured out how to turn j'tia into someone a little more capable but honestly that's sorta what we all thought about j'tia going in. I think she's probably early jury.

Alex
- I think she's going to be super entertaining. She's going to be one of the people everyone should view as a threat but nobody will because she's overly honest about enough that they won't realize she's a schemer. I think it's her huge glasses. That moment where she didn't recognize Jeff was amazing.

Jillian
- she is not exciting and she seems like the most likely girl to float so far. also she referred to herself as someone who sells 'timeshare' in the singular. she might get better as the season goes because she'll slowly gather self-confidence from her weight loss but i don't know how well she'll fit in with everyone?

Megan
- She's got a funniness to her that's just so endearing, I really like her and I think she's going to come across as aloof and sort of the person nobody takes seriously which is great for her long term prospects. Saying she'd get in a showmance and stab them in the back is awesome. I'm excited to see her be excited. I feel like she'll stab someone in the back and be like 'oh my god i'm actually stabbing someone in the back right now this is awesome'

- His voice was not what I was expecting it to be, wow. And his clothes for a stay-at-home dad? what? His hair is sort of annoying but I think everyone in the house is going to be so intrigued by him and he's going to go decently far because of it. I can't see him being an early boot despite being obviously a little different from the rest of the cast. I would love to get to know this guy and also he seemed almost stoned.

Matt
- I hope that he ends up being more like Paul in terms of realizing he is so far in over his head and then pulls it together but I don't think he's going to be much of a strategist. I think the girls are going to play him so he might go far before getting slashed by someone like Alex.

Mark
- Matt talked about how he was a good guy but Mark actually seems like genuine good people. Incredibly charismatic and also likely to be played by the girls. I feel like I'll pity him at some point. I'm rooting for him even though I can't really see him succeeding long-term but I can see him making it far because he's just so nice nobody wants to get rid of him right away. I'm glad the big muscly guy isn't someone like Corey who can't really form sentences too. Maybe forming a slight crush tbh

Cameron
- He's the quirky smart dude but he doesn't come across like a huge nerd like Ian and Steve. He's actually socially capable and I think he'll be identified as a huge threat but I'm excited to watch him play. He's definitely aware that he can't come across like Ian and Steve which is a huge plus for his long term prospects.

Ramses
- he has too much energy and i'm horrified about the prospect of a ramses/raven alliance. he thinks everyone will underestimate him but that won't matter when his relative lack of maturity becomes too apparent.

Josh
- going to overplay so hard so fast and is going to be out before the jury, he couldn't even hold back his swears in the video. He's like Jozea minus the messiah complex. at least unlike Devin we won't hear about a daughter constantly

Cody
- so vanilla but I'm really hoping for a Cody/Christmas tag team that isn't quite a showmance. He's pretty laid back and I think people will tell him more information than he should hear but he won't really know what to do with it and will make a mistake. He's sort of an optimistic pessimist which is funny.

Jason
- I think I would like him more if his hat wasn't annoying as fuck. He sort of looks like the main guy from Pentatonix. I'm very neutral on him as a person but the fact he's going in blind is probably a good thing because people will underestimate him strategically and I think he seems like he's got a half-decent head on his shoulders. Hasn't played yet but knows not to have a strategy going in and to get too caught up in specific ideas. I think he will pleasantly surprise.

Got out of my post-Sangmin depression long enough to watch another. I will say that the fact that there are still so many people left I really like made it an easier pill to swallow. Luckily we dodged a bullet in this episode because losing Sangmin and Hyunmin back to back might have been too much to handle. I did like Yoonsun, though, so I was disappointed it had to be her. She seemed like a neat lady.

That main match might have been the biggest swing in the whole series. The show had kinda gotten away from the huge shocker stuff, so having Hyunmin come in last kinda blew my mind.

Glad Kyungran survived that. I don't hate Yoohyun or anything, but I still think he's tremendously boring, and I don't think the season will really miss having him.

That main match seemed really hard for the rebels to win without getting busted. Like, borderline impossible. I'm not sure why they decided to make the numbers appear in a pattern, they should have been random to even give them a shot.
