I'm genuinely-curious. Is it just grown men and women having manga and anime waifus that are of little boys and girls that, while they have the appearance of being children, preteens, and teens but are actually hundreds of years old or whatever like Babette from Elder Scrolls V Skyrim who is a vampire and ageless?

Or is it literally men and women in love with actual children?

I think the excuse is more "not going to jail and not actually molesting anyone" more than "hooray, I'm not a pedophile! I'm going to go become an elementary school teacher!"

There's nothing really strange about a person being attracted to a teen, especially since 18 is legal pretty much everywhere and 16 is legal in most nations last I checked. And I'm genuinely curious if you can't see the appeal in a woman who stays 18. Because that appeal seems pretty evident.

The other stuff is whatever, people are attracted to what they're attracted to but that's more fringe. Personally, I don't even see the appeal of flat-chested adult women.

Eh, I find "loli" falls more into bofy type than actual age, usually just short, since Hestia from DanMachi, is a Goddess, has a large rack, but, even in-universe, is called an "Oppai Loli", with "Oppai" meaning Breasts/Boobs, so usually I think it's more of a Height thing, if someone like Hestia can still somewhat be titled a Loli.

Also, Girls = Loli, thus Lolicon, Boys = Shota, thus Shotacon, just for future reference.

As for my end, Eh, I find Loli's are meant to be more cute/adorable than anything, unless they're like Hestia, I really don't feel anything sexual for them at all....

This. Despite the question mark, it's pretty much an echo chamber.

For starters, you can like lolis in a non-sexual way. But assuming this was just referring to the sexual kind, you can't just pigeonhole everyone's way of thinking.

I can't really give an answer because I'm not really into it myself. But I do think that everyone is entitled to their kinks as long as they're not hurting anyone, or in cases like this, bringing it into the real world. And I know demonizing the thing and those who like it won't help anything (not to mention the hypocritical factor for anyone who enjoys violent content of any kind).

There's also the fact that there are different kinds of lolis, as mentioned. Painting them all as abhorrent is nonsensical, as I mentioned in the other topic:

If you're attracted to someone under 18 with a well developed body, you're a creeper. If you're attracted to someone over 18 with an underdeveloped body, you're a creeper.

Basically if they're not 18+ with a fully developed body, you're some kind of disgusting weirdo. That mindset goes against nature, and it's incredibly insulting to anyone over 18 who fits the description. It's basically saying no one is ever allowed to be attracted to them.

Or are you guys trying to say that internet enjoy kittens, puppies and babies (human or animal) on the internet because they want to have sex with them? I would say the vast majority doesn't. Small body, big head, big eyes just appeals to our protective instincts. That's it.

Then about people who actually masturbate to anime lolis: It's creepy, sure, but it doesn't hurt anyone. I prefer pedos doing that rather than preying on actual children. Remember, pedophilia isn't bad because it's creepy, it's bad because children need protection.

it's literally just flat chest girls...99% of the time they are full grown adults or late teens and they're just flat and usually short. they have the same overall features of the adult counterparts in the shows/mangas but are just shorter and flat chested.

They're the same age, you're just arbitrarily deciding based on your personal visual preferences. She's more immature than Konata in other ways and look is pretty minor to a lot of people when it comes to attraction.

To be a murderer you must kill someone.

To be a pedophile all that is required is the attraction to children. You don't ever have to touch a kid to be a pedophile.

One is an action the other is a desire. It doesn't matter that you're perving out to drawings. The desire for the form of the child is there. But you can't be a murderer without actually killing someone.

It's great that you aren't out there actually touching kids, which would make you a child molester. But if you're creeping out on drawings of children you are a pedophile. Don't delude yourself.

I think a far more important distinction would be whether they're attracted to minors in real life, and especially if they do anything about it. There absolutely is a parallel between this and violence in games. (Or even like when people used to say anyone who likes games like Guitar Hero are just wannabe musicians.) You can slaughter a nation in a game and even enjoy it; doesn't mean you want to do it in real life. They're not necessarily linked.

Even if there were a real life interest, the only thing that matters is the ability to separate fiction from reality. Some people can't do that and that's absolutely a problem. But for those who are have no interest or desire to make it real, I really don't think treating them as scum is right.
