I've played once the past week and a half. I'm actually really content with where the meta is as a whole, but I've gotten busy with work and have other things to do in my free time, so I figured this might as well be the opportunity I take to drop the game. =\

Meta does seem to be the best it's been in a while. I think quest rogue is really the only flaw that's keeping it from being nearly perfect. What a stupid deck :/

Even with the meta being the best it's ever been I'm still not really having any fun. Thinking it might be time to craft some golden Milhouses and give Gwent a try but as a frugal person sunken cost fallacy is really wrecking me.

I mean I really only play a few games on my break every day but losing 3-5 games just makes me really upset for the next hour. Like is that even worth it anymore?

Also I probably will get Ulti's account to legend next month so that should get make him stop caring about the game when he gets a shiny card back (Much like how he kept playing Warcraft 3 for a banner or something)

Personally I love this meta. I'm all about making fun interesting gameplay decks. I'm more about the joy of gameplay versus the joy of winning. And this meta has TONS of different deck concepts you can enjoy.

It's so diverse I actually got sucked into playing somewhat competitively last month and got to rank 4, which was by far a personal best. I haven't had as much opportunity to play a lot of games this month so I'm not at a good rank, but I'm still coming up with fun new decks to try. I love it.


Honestly, while there are always some areas to improve, this expansion really worked out overall. I don't think a meta even can turn out much better than this. The only thing fucked up is the way acquiring cards works which is all fucked up.

I think if you guys genuinely aren't enjoying this meta, a break from Hearthstone is in order.

Taking a break can kind of suck as you can fall behind on your collection, but you shouldn't play a game like this for years out of obligation or out of habit -you'll just make yourself miserable. You should only play repeatedly when you feel like you are truly enjoying the game.

I will say that I tried out the Aggro Shaman list that's currently popular, and had a lot of fun, so I'm not giving up just yet.

Maybe I'm just fatigued from playing too much Warrior and Mage.

Played 4 tavern brawls today on my break

Won the first 2

Lost the last 2 and I'm so unbelievably salty from those losses. Like why do I put up with these emotions for a game I barely enjoy? Today might have been the last straw if I can't even play tavern brawl without getting upset.

Well I was playing a Priest mirror in Tavern brawl and he played double injured blademaster into circle of healing. Next turn he played argus turning them both into 5/8 taunts and I just became very angry.

So, OTK Mage is a terrible life choice against Heroic Steel Sentinel. I mean, I won on the first try, but playing to fatigue and then having to cast 55 Fireballs to win is an incredibly tedious experience.

Does the Antonidas/Fireball glitch not occur in single player? I was paranoid during that entire sequence that I was going to be 50 Fireballs in and the client was going to crash.

I picked Mage in the brawl and essentially put every spell in the deck. First match was against a Druid which went into fatigue, but my double Ice Barrier ended up being the difference.

Also, the weirdest thing happened after that. I went to quit the game, and it sent me back to my desktop immediately. No crashing, no freezing. Must be a new feature or something.

WOOOOO FIRST 12-WIN ARENA SINCE WINTER WOOOOOOO!

Envenom Weapon is amazing. Embarrasses the crap out of people trying to hide behind big taunts. The deck had tons of poison all around (2 envenom, 2 wasp, 1 gastropod, 1 cobra, some adapt guys) and Shaku ran away with a few games.

I will say Tortollan Primalist is much better in Rogue than most classes since you almost always hit a spell that can't wreck you with random targeting. (Deadly Poison is always going to pump your weapon)

I played a bit in the closed Beta, it was okay

then then "updated" the game to a newer version that crashed a lot. I pretty much lost interest because the game wasn't good enough to make up for the frustration of it crashing all the time. I said I'd wait for the open beta and a more stable release but now that the open beta is here I don't honestly feel enthused to play the game.

From what I've read, they've changed a whole bunch of cards and mechanics for the open beta which have generally improved the game.

My favorite decks in Hearthstone include drawing a lot of cards so I wasn't really a fan of Gwent. The core mechanic just seems very limiting when you build a whole deck and don't get to see half of the cards. I'll admit I was definitely a noob though and didn't put much time into it.

Decks are generally 25, and you naturally draw 13 of those cards during the game. When you add in mulligans, I don't think there's been a game where I haven't seen at least 15/25 cards.

Apparently the extra draws are also new to the open beta as well, so it might've been something they looked at and decided to change.
