While not a movie, there's a reboot of well... Reboot in the process.

From what I've seen, it doesn't look good in the slightest either...

I wonder if it will have a Brandon Frasier cameo. Can't do a reboot without a cameo.

How many Wolfman movies have they made? I've only seen the original with Lon Chaney Jr and the one with Anthony Hopkins.

Nope, Fantastic 4 beats it by a few years.

You might be able to count Spiderman as well, but as far as I know each reboot is technically a different "universe" so technically they might not count.

Which Fantastic 4 movies are you talking about? The most recent was 2015 and the one before that was 2007, unless I'm missing one. RE's last movie was January of this year and they already announced the reboot.

Last movie in a series compared to first movie reboot isn't really a good indicator though, in that case Godzilla would be it because they reboot that every few years, yet the original movie universe from the 50's still have movies released in even as recently as last year.

I consider it first movie in a series to reboot of that movie. In that case, Resident Evil is 2002 -> 2018 (I assume) whereas Fantastic 4 is 2005 -> 2015.

Godzilla 2000 is probably the closest thing to a reboot of Godzilla as it told the same basic story that Godzilla did but with an American actor and for American audiences. I dunno if the Matthew Broderick version would be a reboot because it and the last Godzilla movie both tell different stories even if they are "re-introducing" Godzilla, to a new audience or generation.

tbh, was just going to say that because The Mummy was itself a reboot of a much better film. That's overlooking that Hammer did a bunch of films in the 50s/60s when it had the Universal Monsters license.

Depends on your definition. I'm not sure that it's borrowing from the Frasier series, so it's just rebooting the original. If it's the number of times it's been rebooted, Godzilla probably still has it beat. That's excluding things like Dracula which are public domain and has had countless new starts as a result.

Less than the number of Mummy films made, iirc. Because the main character in Wolfman dies in the original, it kinda hurt its longevity. The original Mummy film series had 5 or 6 entries iirc, the Frasier series had about 4 and then another 3 or 4 Scorpion King films. Then you have the Hammer series...

They're also remaking IT, Pop-Eye and Ferdinand the Bull.

As for ones they haven't announced, I'm betting Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
