Not be able to taste salt, but still be able to taste sugar. View Results This is just a "would you rather question", you would still be able to get all the nutrients your body needs, this is just the taste we're talking about. I actually never was a "sugar" type of guy, I could go a full year without eating ice cream for example. It's not that I don't like it, it's just something I don't crave for. It would suck not being able to taste any sugar at all, such as sugar in fruit for example, but I can't imagine eating all other types of food without salt. Fruits and vegetables would probably become inedible to about 90% of the population, for one thing. Removing the taste of either sugar or salt entirely would radically change the flavors of most foods for the worse. I had/have a sweet tooth and coupled with bad genetics that made some of my teeth go really bad. While giving up sugar would suck, it has its benefits-- especially in modern society where we use all sorts of unnatural ingredients.
