Topic	Give up the taste of salt or sugar?

Sugar is awesome, but doesn't seem to have quite the same universal utility that salt does. Sugar's in a lot more things than you think. Fruits and vegetables would probably become inedible to about 90% of the population, for one thing. Removing the taste of either sugar or salt entirely would radically change the flavors of most foods for the worse.
