I made my first Steam account when HL2 came out, but I lost the details to it and made a new Steam account in 2010. It looks like I made a bunch of purchases during the Black Friday sale in 2010:

The Orange Box was the first thing I activated on Steam, but the first stuff bought was Quantz, the Introversion Complete Pack, and World of Goo. There was almost assuredly some kind of deal going on.

The Orange Box, although I know I bought like, Valve's complete works before that (I played a lot of TFC for a couple of years before TF2 came out), I guess it's just wasn't Steam yet? I thought it was though

I bought the retail disc when it was on sale during Black Friday and it prompted me to create a Steam account. I didn't really know what Steam was back then.

Didn't actually buy a game off of Steam until 2 years later and it looks like my first one was KOTOR. Still haven't played it yet.

But the first game I owned on Steam is Half-Life, due to owning the physical copy of the game, and it installed Steam.

Yeah, if history only tracks back to 2008 then I know that the Valve bundle with HL and TFC and all that other stuff was my first purchase. I still have stuff like Ricochet in my library. Does anybody remember Ricochet. it's actually cool
