http://www.solidbackgrounds.com/images/4096x2304/4096x2304-french-sky-blue-solid-color-background.jpg

People call it sky blue, baby blue, light blue etc, which is a word and an adjective but not a unique name

in Japanese its called 'Mizu', in Spanish and Italian is called 'Celeste'. to be honest calling that collor 'baby blue, light blue or sky blue' is like id we didn't had a word for 'pink' and we called it 'baby red, light red or 'flamingo red'

It makes sense do I am confused

Because a lot of older languages didn't actually have a word for blue, so there's less linguistic basis for the word.

Isn't it called aquamarine or something.

There are technical names for like every other shade they just aren't used much.

Hell don't some languages not have distinct words for blue/green?

Or better put, divided the hues in different groups. Some languages even define colours by shade, instead of hue.

you fail because:
first, it is conniving 2 words aqua and marine
second Aquamarine and skyblue are not the same color
we do not have a unique word for this color

I don't know.. Names like light blue, sky blue, baby blue etc. seem alright to me.. There are many different shades of "light" blue so i think a unique word to encompass them all may actually be more confusing.

In terms of what you're asking about, there is an English word : Periwinkle. It's the blue equivalent of pink. That is to say it is blue mixed with white.

no. it's like calling the color of the sky sky blue. sure if the sky were red you could call it sky red. and sounds much cooler than "pink".

Mizuiro is defined as rgb(175, 223, 228).
Celeste is defined as either rgb(178, 255, 255) or rgb(117, 170, 219), depending on whether you're talking about the shade of cyan used by Italian bicycle manufacturer Bianchi or the shade of azure used in heraldry.
Cyan is defined as rgb(0, 255, 255).
Azure is defined as rgb(0, 127, 255).
Aquamarine is defined as rgb(127, 255, 212), after the gemstone.
Turquoise is defined as rgb(64, 224, 208), after the gemstone.

The color displayed in the OP is rgb(119, 181, 254), which is known in English as "French sky blue", because it's the color called "bleu ciel" by the popular French color list, Pourpre.com.

So yeah, there's no single-word name for that color in English, but that's true of an American pantsload of colors.

That's not how compounds work in Germanic languages. If you slam two words together, you make one word.
