Kanz, the kind of control you're attempting simply is... it's not possible. If there is one thing the history of board 8 has taught us it's that mercs will not be contained. It expands to new boards and crashes through rules, painfully, maybe even dangerously, but mercs, uh... finds a way.

Honestly I think simple conditionals should be fine, the more we talk about it. I might expand the list by two slots (total of 14) and allow them as a compromise. Lemme talk to trdl and see, guys

We should have another game in uhh...like four months! Assuming this one doesn't crash horribly (shaky assumption since it's mercs, I know). So it's worth sticking around through this one I think.

Also, fun fact: a That Man PS build DID actually exist, but Lopen decided not to release him. (I was going to put 'we' here, but I'm pretty sure the concept and decision was entirely Lopen). It was, IIRC, a neutral, rehireable way to do the Mewtwo refund mechanic, but I don't think it ended up being necessary. So the Baiken reference wasn't just for flavor!

I don't think there were any other "secrets" really, other than builds that were made and not released for one reason or another (Saber being the most notable of these).

What are we doing with Alucard btw?

I kinda don't like the Plan being public knowledge, but I will admit Luis Tiro and I have some degree of advantage if we just use the M4 plan and don't release the options.

I would support developing a new plan using some combination of previously seen options and new stuff you and trdl complete.

The fair way to do it is to let me (and some combo of numbers/hgr/newbie I GUESS) become the arbiter of the plan, since I can pick out old options and develop new ones while remaining neutral. I'd just have to respond to all plan rolls

That way no one new learns the plan

Alucard's kind of a thorny issue. There's basically three things about him that are sorta icky:

-He gives a huge advantage to people who know how M4 played out. There's no real way of knowing The Plan is bullshit without having been savaged by it or being an admin.

-He requires access to the admin boards. I asked newbie for a link but he hasn't gotten back to me yet. If one of the admins can PM me and Trdl a link to it it'd be most appreciated.

-He's honestly kinda broken. Everyone who followed M4 remembers the bullshit that was his possession, the neck snaps, and most of all the post-abilities tierflip, AKA 'I win today. sry'.

I'd like to hear opinions from as many veterans as possible on him. There's basically four options here: Remake Alucard (with hidden plan options), keep him as is and tell newbies to git gud, remake or keep but make all options public, or delete him outright. I have my own preference, but would like to hear what the players think.

PS: Serious about wanting that link to the admin boards. Without that we have to remake Alucard and Tira from the ground up, period.

Tira I'm up for keeping regardless because I revealed all of her boosted options and logged them on her wiki page (the missing one is she injures herself IIRC), and she's fun and strong without being broke. Alucard's kind of a different kettle of fish tho

No new builds did! This first draft is using preexistent ones. Should Draftmerx work well, we'll consider adding new builds for the next one, but for this one I decided not to do it to limit the amount of disruption from new potentially too good builds to a minimum.

Kha'zix got shitcanned as a matter of principle, similar to Slime's breeding. I COULD have reworked those mercs like I did with Yandere-Chan to keep their offending abilities at a reasonable level, but I didn't want to - Slime because he was published by an admin who didn't know the rules of his own game (which is honestly just fuckin disrespectful, IMO - everyone else worked hard to make shit work and then you drop a merc that's based on not knowing the rules????), Kha'zix because he was a horrific interp nightmare where even his more stringent wording about how he DIDN'T inherit non-offensive parameters didn't stop people from giving him speed/durability/whatever (and he was released unnerfed in spite of player outcry, which sucked). I would sooner use Gravy's Velvet Crowe build than bring K6 back, tbqh - she does a similar thing but better and is a cooler character in general to boot.
