I do think some of the later black coins may be impossible with Mario, or near impossible.

Why are you getting the black coins now? IMO it makes more sense to play through the game getting the pink coins first.

As someone who 100%'d Super Mario Run, there are no coins that are luck/random.

That coin is actually pretty easy to get, too. Just jump off the head of the last koopa and hold your jump - you'll go higher. Then spin at the last second in mid-air.

Stop JUMPING to conclusions.

The "random" bit I mentioned ia that sometimes Mario jumps higher and sometimes not, even when you press the screen for the same length
It depends on the exact frame you jump from the skull kappa

And I am not afraid to admit when I lack skill
I had troubles with Luigi Purple Coins in SMG
I couldn't beat the "impossible levels" of NSMB2 DLC
But I have no problem to admit it was because I had to git gud
Here? Just try 100 times and then you get the perfect frame and you jump high enough

Bottom line for me is $10, even if it's not a big deal for your wallet, is still a lot for a mobile game. It was worth it for me, as a Mario fan, but obviously my view is all I can give. :)

It's not SMW/SMB3 material or anything. It's one of the more enjoyable mobile games I've played, though.

TC: If you have a problem with that coin, you probably shouldn't buy it until you git gud.

I definitely enjoyed it. Getting through all the levels is way too easy for a Mario game, but the coins are fun and I really enjoyed Toad rally.

I'm also not stingy about $10. A decent meal will often cost you more than that.

For mobile games SMR is pretty pricey for what you get. And I've been buying mobile for years.

I'm not sold on recommending it but it's not a bad experience either. I could just recommend a handful of other games before it.

it's hard to put a value on the game. i've been enjoying it. hard to justify it being worth "20% of persona 5" or "as much as dark souls 1" or something like that.

i wouldn't pay $10 for this on console/pc, but because there's such a dearth of stuff that's actually fun on mobile (which is often the only platform i have access to), i'm happy with my purchase. this is even considering i can't play it on the subway (requires internet connection)

only game i think i've enjoyed more on my phone is super stickman golf 2/3

there are other ones i like, but they're either just puzzles or grinding/gacha games

The only level I struggled to get all special coins was a tower that involved very strict P-Switch timing. I had to use Luigi to get it but I've seen people do it with Mario.

Nah, different prizes this time. Can't remember what they were; I'll have to hop into the game and check.

Edit: There was a piranha plant statue, a cherry blossom tree, and a couple dandelions. Event's over now though.

Nah, more about landing/jumping on the right part of 'em than anything.

Also it reallllly doesn't take long to unlock a Yoshi, and with a Yoshi nobody should have any problems

Yeah, this. Even sticking to Mario it's just trial and error, not RNG. I found it easiest if I just hopped over the first Dry Bones, no bounce, then a short jump off the second to land on the third for a long bounce to the coin.

The game is loaded with trial-and-error special coins, but nothing RNG that I've seen. Split paths where one has the coin, or coins hidden in blocks, or whatever.
