I generally tend to deny things that lack evidence for them and have plenty of evidence against them, yes.

There is a word we have for someone who sees evidence stacked against something and thus decides it must be true.

By "proven" do you mean "exposed as a lie"?

Unless you mean this Russian gambling ring thing, which sounds a lot more like "a legitimate criminal investigation that Obama had nothing to do with" than "treason"

(And even if Trump's bizarre allegations were true that would not remotely fit the definition of treason (thorough, yes, it would be very bad), so I'm just really confused)

Yes, it absolutely would. (and was). That would be to the President Elect of the United States. 1,000% treason.

A third of young Muslims in France think that terrorism is “acceptable” a new study has found, with the full report being delayed until after the election because it is not “politically correct”.

Findings of the study, which canvassed the opinions of 6828 high school students after the 2015 Paris attacks, were presented at a press conference in the French capital by researchers Olivier Galland and Anne Muxel.

The results are disturbing but not surprising given attitudes amongst Muslims living in European countries.

– A young Muslim is four times more likely to adhere to radical beliefs than a Christian.

– 33% of Muslim students consider it “acceptable” to “participate in violent actions for his ideas”. In other words, a third are sympathetic towards terrorism.

– 20% of Muslim students agreed with the statement that it was “acceptable to stand up for your religion with weapons”.

– 24% of those surveyed refused to fully condemn the Charlie Hebdo killings.

– 21% of those surveyed refused to fully condemn the Bataclan theater massacre during which 89 people were killed as part of the wider November 13 Paris attack that claimed 130 lives.

When does a man become US Secretary of State? When his wife tells him to. At least that’s what Rex Tillerson said in his latest interview. Apparently, he didn’t want the job and only took it because his wife said he was “supposed to.”

“I didn’t want this job. I didn’t seek this job,” Tillerson said during a three-nation Asia trip in an interview on his plane with the Independent Journal Review (IJR), a little-known US news and opinion website founded by former Republican party staffers.

"My wife told me I'm supposed to do this," he said, adding that he had not even met Donald Trump before he was summoned to Trump Tower to discuss global affairs and subsequently offered the position as the administration's top diplomat.

Well, now we know Tillerson is obedient to his wife.

The evolution of the Republican mindset has been fascinating to watch. A lot of them just followed the party line as always, of course. And then there's the Trump cult of personality people who are forever lost.

There's two other groups not often talked about though. The first is the silent Republican. I think a decent number of Republicans are flat-out embarrassed to be Republicans right now and so avoid politics as much as possible. The second group I like to call the double-downers. On some level, they realized that they got conned and contributed to this mess. They're ashamed. But instead of being silent, they double down on their support to try and convince themselves that what they did was right. This group, I think, is the loudest and most vehement of them all. Partially because they're yelling at themselves as much as others, but also because cognitive dissonance is very stressful.

maybe he is basing it on religion-oriented writings even more fictitious than the Bible. iirc in Dante's inferno, the treasonous go to the 8th circle of hell which is almost the worst plane. murderers would be a few planes higher I think. still, as interesting of a story that is, using it as reference point for reality is just assbrained. hopefully this has nothing to do with mwc's process behind what he said. I'm just throwing it out there because it was the first thing that came to mind when I read his post.

Presenting either Trump or Obama as "anti-establishment, f*** the system" is just wishful thinking tbh. it's my belief that that's ultimately the reason why he won, too. people just found the things he was saying far more appealing than what hillary was saying. i think that's a far more important reason for his victory than the "he's such a master persuader" s*** scott adams was spouting.
