The ds4 is great, as is the gcn controller. I'm liking the switch grip more than I expected, but I wouldn't put it on the list.

I can't type to save my life but unless we're talking about WASD movement the PC is largely untouchable.

Outside of keyboard and mouse which I dont really consider to be a controller I really like the Xbone controller. Gamecube is pretty good too.

Depends on the game which controller is best but I feel like the dualshock performs best overall-- unless you're playing an RTS or something you should be able to play pretty much any game on it and have a fine time.

I think those who say Cube haven't tried SNES games on it (though with button mapping it could be ok)

DS4 is ok but I don't really like the Trigger places on it. I think XBONE is the best, surprisingly. And I only use it when I rarely PC game!

We're in an era of incredible controllers, but I think the Xbox One controller is the best base controller ever made. I think the Xbox One Elite controller is so much better than the rest it's not even close.

I really like Cube's controller but it works well on a really narrow set of games. Some of the button placements are kinda awkward (X, Y, Z) if you use em frequently and making the c stick a set of buttons is not a good idea and should never be used that way.

The games it works well on though it might be my favorite. Basically games where the majority of the action is done with two buttons A and B it works really well and is probably the most comfortable for me to use. L and R as support trigger buttons which you hold down to do some other action, X Y and Z for things like opening menus or actions you're going to do rarely or in generally lower action situations.

The Xbox One after a revision or two is definitely among the best. It fixed some of the faults (lack of headphone jack, bad bumpers) and is super easy to set up on PC. I like the Switch Pro controller as well. It's got a nice build quality and good ergonomics, is immediately recognized by PC, has incredible battery life. I wish it had headphones support, but oh well.

The Steam controller is my preferred device. So comfortable and versatile, has huge system level updates regularly. It's in a league all its own.

360/xbone/ps3/ps4 controllers are all pretty damn good, but they all took a little getting used to

i am uncoordinated and end up accidentally hitting the middle button at inopportune times until i get some practice

Well it's worth noting that the Steam controller isn't really a thing you can use for some key genres that you can use with "traditional" controllers. Primarily the lack of a d-pad is the issue. The face buttons are very small and stiff but ultimately not a big issue. I also feel like the d-pad is a little stiff on the Switch Pro controller, but other than that it's incredible, maybe my second-favorite controller behind the Xbox One Elite controller.
