So, I didn't know people liked office jobs so much. I guess my ideal job would still be an office job, but not like the soul-crushing one I had. Being unemployed for a long period is also soul-crushing so what can you do

If basketball and hockey can schedule it so every team can play everyone else in an 82 game season I don't understand why baseball can't do the same in a season that's twice as long.

Erik it's money. They get more money from having the Yankees play the Red Sox 78 times a year. Just wouldn't be the same with 9 a year against them and 9 a year against the Brewers.

Obviously they'd still have the Yankees play the Red Sox more than the Brewers, but it isn't as simple as Erik is making it out to be either, since hockey and basketball are done one game at a time. "Well you have double the games so just make the series two games" isn't a good solution because you can't realistically have every series be two games. It would be a stretch to do that even for just the interleague series. I'd imagine that with current scheduling, teams still don't play anywhere near 30 two-game series a year.

I mean, teams play division opponents 19ish times a year. It's absurd to think you can't take out one or two of those series and apply them to other teams.

What an uneventful trade deadline. I get sick of hearing every year about how the Nuggets should trade Gallinari or Faried or Chandler or whoever (Mudiay now) and then it never happens. They got Mason Plumlee earlier but that was basically just a flip of backup centers, so meh.

I feel kind of bad sometimes when some random decent poster comes to post about sports and then we usually ignore it (not out of malice, because we just don't care) and they're probably thinking we're such a lame circle-jerk. These topics are pretty false advertising but at the same time it would feel wrong to start calling them something else

I just watched Caddyshack for the first time last night and I was kind of underwhelmed. Maybe it's one of those "You had to be there when it was popular" kind of deals, because I don't think the comedy really holds up today.

I've never seen Caddyshack, but that reminds me, I watched Airplane! for the first time somewhat recently and was like "This is one of the best comedies of all time?" It had its funny moments but there's so much stuff that's ridiculously dated. The casting is pretty on-point at least
