the first game was won by toon link, in the event of a time out % lead wins unless you grab the edge more than 35 times usually. and I can't fully agree with you and ulti here, aside from the under the stage shenanigans in the second game the TL was playing like just as much of a typical brawl neanderthal

Two nobodies playing a match I'm sure was mid-bracket with the most boring character MU there probably is doesn't speak for the entirety of competitive Brawl. I mean UMvC3 is my favorite game to watch, and Chris G SOUL FISTing a grand final makes me want to kill myself.

yeah, if you can actually get good with a low tier you tend to get a lot of respect. san and reflex are great with ike and pokemon trainer and no one disrespects them for their character choice at all. for all the **** I will say about the brawl community being awful, this is just made up garbage

Brawl is Brawl

Brawl is a game that's designed for fun. I dislike people that take brawl seriously and are competitive in it. Getting rid of items, final smashes, and playing the game like we saw in the video takes a very fun game and just turns it into...garbage.

Brawl is Brawl

Brawl is a game that's designed for fun. I dislike people that take brawl seriously and are competitive in it. Getting rid of items, final smashes, and playing the game like we saw in the video takes a very fun game and just turns it into...garbage.

I hate people who are competitive too, they should get rid of the results screen in smash 4 because everyone wins!

****ing hated Pit match-ups as Toon Link.

I know it's sort of his MO, but I preferred using the projectiles as set-up for sword attacks mostly.

Alright, it's just that those kinds of statements really get on my nerves, trolling or no. Video games are almost more than a hobby for me, and I don't like being told that I'm harmful to them simply because I'm not a particular degree of competitive.

It's not like I think tripping or lack of hitstun are a good design choice, but I've gotten a lot of enjoyment out of Brawl nonetheless, especially with mods, and it's lame to constantly see it decried as the worst betrayal ever.

I've always thought it was dumb that Brawl gets hate for not being designed for compeitive play in a worse way than Melee was. Melee players don't realize that a lot of the stuff they like was not intended and they just got lucky.

And yeah, competitive Brawl is full of s***heads that think they know everything and truly understand competitive gaming and they think they're in the upper echelon. They don't realize competitive Brawl means absolute dick in terms of professional gaming, or how dumb and immature the community is. There's a lot of times I wish I wasn't so good at Brawl. I'll defend the game all day, but as a collective whole, f*** the community.

casual and low skill shouldn't be confused, you can be competitive minded and low skill, and THOSE people are the ones that got hurt the most I'd argue. just going to c/p a recent conversation I had that illustrates this

This is more or less the reasoning I gave when I pronounced Brawl dead here in Oregon. Melee acually outdraws Brawl here, and by significant (percentage-wise, all of our numbers are just LOL-low at this point). There's no reason for new players to get in because the game is such a change for them and they have no desire to put time in. Semi-competitive players will never get good enough to matter and get tired of pot-filling. Top players get bored with no competition. And for everyone the game has a viewer-entertainment value equal to diarrhea so there is literally 0 hype for anything not national and transcending regions. I've won over a dozen brackets in the last 12 months, and literally no one is watching that crap. People get their mediocre placing, play some friendlies, leave. That gets tiring after a while and then they just stop showing up altogether.

I don't consider myself or my friends competitive at all, but Brawl is in general too slow and floaty for us. We randomly get the itch to play brawl but after 3 or 4 matches, someone asks to play melee and we switch over and have a blast for the next few hours.
