Wrestlemania XI has probably my favorite Wikipedia summary of any wrestling event.

The main event was a match between NFL linebacker Lawrence Taylor, who faced Bam Bam Bigelow as the result of an argument that took place between the two at the 1995 Royal Rumble. Taylor won the match, which led to Bigelow being kicked out of Ted DiBiase's Million Dollar Corporation. Shawn Michaels faced WWF Champion Diesel in a title match but was unable to win the championship.

Hey look, I thought it was odd that the WM main eventing Bam Bam Bigelow and Lawrence Taylor as the one that saved the company was weird too.

The match between Taylor and Bigelow brought the WWF mainstream press coverage. The reactions to the match were mixed; some people thought that Taylor performed surprisingly well for a non-wrestler. Others thought that the WWF pushing a football player to defeat a wrestler made professional wrestling look bad. Reviews of the event as a whole have also been mixed, and the event has been called both the worst WrestleMania of all time and the event that saved the WWF.

now lol wikipedia, but thats where I took that from.

Where does that leave heels like Jericho who refuse to sell merchandise because they don't want to be liked?

Admittedly, I think that's only Jericho, and he's a special case.

just finished cena/rock

watched punk/jericho last night

both matches made up for taker/hhh sucking again (but not bryan getting squashed unfortunately)

might need to rewatch punk/jericho, but giving it a solid *** 3/4 for now. i might be willing to bump it to **** but that's a big barrier when it comes to rating matches for me. was there a stipulation where punk would lose the title on a DQ? obviously i missed the buildup.

as for rock and cena: rock was a little rusty, especially on both rock bottoms, and seemed to forget about his ribs after they did a solid job selling it early on. i liked that bit of psychology in the beginning because it makes the most sense for cena to work over that area as it maximizes the effectiveness of both the STF and the AA. but like i said, they forgot about it later on, which might be worse than not even establishing it at all. still, cena came through on the big stage again and probably carried the rock to a *** 1/2 star match.

Because Ryder is an idiot and she is using him again. She kissed him, he forgot everything that happened last time, and she started toying with him again.

Right after the match he went up to Punk and told him he was adding the stip.

I didn't care that he won, just didn't like how it went down. Since when does Cena go down because he was too busy cracking wise to win? And then he doesn't even address it on Raw, and in fact doubles down on his "I can't possibly lose" comments from before so it wasn't even like he lost because he was overconfident.

Edit: Wait, I don't know what he's saying.

That doesn't mean he was denying he was overconfident he was just saying overconfidence was a good thing to have in that case.

Which is a fine viewpoint to have even if it's wrong. Cena's never the type to regret anything for better or for worse.

Okay, he was saying it was confidence, and that was good to have

But then obviously he was over confident because he did not in fact win, regardless of what he said about the nature of his confidence

So yes the point is Cena's "I fear nothing and regret less" attitude can make him delusional

Confidence is generally described as a state of being certain either that a hypothesis or prediction is correct or that a chosen course of action is the best or most effective.

Cena was certain that his hypothesis/prediction of being victorious over the Rock was correct and/or his chosen course of action was the best or most effective in defeating The Rock!
