Flaaffy's name may be a combination of fluffy and baa, the sound a sheep makes. Alternately, the name could be a combination of ‘’fluffy’’ and ‘’taffy’’, an informal nickname for Welsh people, who are often stereotypically associated with sheep. It may also incorporate "laugh", considering its playful nature. The double-A in its name could also originate from a double-A battery, given Flaaffy's Electric-type.

Its name is a combination of ampere, or amp, a measure of electrical current, and pharos, the Greek word for "lighthouse". Ampharos's Japanese name can be taken to mean denry%u016B, electric current, or denry%u016B, electric dragon, and may include denky%u016B, light bulb in its name, referring to its tail.

The whole line gets a 6 from me. I don't find anything particularly appealing about them. Just electric types; I prefer Magnemite over these anyways.

In other words, the ones that were not supposed to be middle evos and had much worse final evos added ten years later.

Sometimes I still wonder how they managed to make an even worse pokémon out of lolmagmar.

Yea middle evo's are hardly cute, or badass....they are like a mix that doesn't mix well. There are very few middle evo's that are superior design wise to its first form and last form.
That's why they are hated.
