Every year, lefty attempts to further tarnish the great contest that UoTY once was. That he was given the reigns to this hallowed chariot is a mistake of unfathomable levels. To rectify this mistake we should not just take the reigns from him, but we should send him in exile to PoTD.

I believe that if it's gone on for so many years, UOTY must have once been a good thing. However this is the only UOTY I've been here for, and from what I've seen, it seems to be a total mess.

uoty was never meant to be about you, it was meant to be about the board selecting the most worthy user for the accolade. It was why I used nominations and not sign ups, if you're making the whole thing about yourself then you're doing it wrong.

No I'm not which is why the tailored rules were regularly working against what the average board 8'er wanted. Which in itself was a great thing with all the juicy drama.
UUL made a set of rules which catered exactly to what the average board 8'er wanted, look how that turned out.

Haven't followed it in years so no clue what its like, I see the no rallying rule is still there so in principle at least its different. Just sayin that uoty was never intended to be a me versus you contest like most others and the rules were made to reflect that. People who say they'd rally in a contest like this which is about lauding the best and most worthy posters is a bit sad.

You're on a contest board dedicated to internet polls on fictional characters, many of the people here have been here for about 10 years. It's not really too sharp to cast aspersions on user contests given the context of the community, its sort of a given that board 8 likes taking unimportant things seriously.
