I want to start my second playthrough of ME3, but I can't decide what class to play. First run was a Vanguard. I've been trialing the classes in MP, but nothing really seems to be exactly what I need. I'm kind of leaning towards Adept, but don't really know how I should spec it. Suggestions?
I'm not sure how the cloak works in ME2 but it's pretty crazy in ME3. You can just cloak behind everyone, drop a grenade and shoot off a power before dropping the cloak and shotgunning anyone left. It's also nice when a Brute is targeting you so you can get away and do double damage on a sniper shot at him.
Well yeah, but since you can use any weapon in ME3 the Infiltrator is a lot more versatile. Cloak is a lifesaver. It can get you out of enemy fire so you can find cover to heal. It can allow you to sneak up on an enemy undetected, which makes it a whole lot easier to get an enemy in the insta-kill from cover.
You can pretty much do whatever you want. I of course prefer sniping, because I love it. Black Widow is amazing. Along with Energy Drain. Cloak + Energy Drain knocks out shields instantly (I'm talking Insanity) and sets up for a perfect headshot as well. And since not all enemies have protection like in ME2, with the Black Widow, that's three dead enemies before I have to reload since I always get headshots (time dilation makes it easy).
Anyway... If you don't like sniping, there are still a lot of other ways to use the Infiltrator.

I don't mind sniping, just haven't used it much. My Infiltrator playthrough is still only early in ME2, so all I have to choose from are the Mantis and Incisor, and I'm not liking either of them that much (Mantis only holding one shot, Incisor not doing enough damage).
I think I'll keep playing this, though, and maybe import it over if it gets better.
One shot sniper rifles are superior in ME2. Mantis is pretty good, but the Widiow is marvelous. It's overkill on difficulties under Insanity since it kills even regular protected enemies with one headshot.

Eh, I decided to just import a rather old save and selected Adept. I guess the basic strategy is going to be Warp -> Throw/Pull. Anything else I really need? Playing on Insanity, if that makes any difference.
Edit: Should I just arm myself with a Pistol, and rely on my Biotics? It seems like the better thing to do than get bogged down, and it lets me spam biotics because of the 1-2 second recharges on these powers.
I've come to the conclusion that engineers are broken. Chain overload is too good.

Get Double Pull, use that, then use either Double Throw or Warp to set off an explosion. For shields, use Warp and then Throw to set off an explosion which will get rid of the shields. Having other Biotics with you helps a lot. Liara and Javik mainly. Biotic explosions all over.

I actually had an easier time in Insanity with an Engineer, with all the distractions you can place on the battlefield, including Liara's Singularity and Javik's Slam. Crowd control out the ass.

Well, there's really no reason for them to confirm or deny it right now with the DLC coming out soon. I imagine that will provide something definitive one way or the other.

I assume you mean humans only, because it would differ depending on which species you are too.
For Soldier, max Concussive Shot and spam it. For Adept, you of course won't need a weapon, so choose whatever gives you +200%. And use biotic detonations constantly. Engineer, give Combat Drone the shock ability over the rockets for the last upgrade. Otherwise I've noticed that it just stays in one place and doesn't seek out new enemies to pester.
Weapons don't really matter. But you should never have more than one.

Pirateking2000 posted... anyone have tips for weaponry / specs for
Sentinel Soldier Adept Engineer
just leveling MP classes
Depends on the race as Halo said. Sentinels are kind of difficult to choose. You can go with maxing Tech Armor but your cooldowns will suffer slightly. With my Turian Sentinel it wasn't too bad. I'd take a Phaeston and wreck shop. Chain Overload with full Tech Armor up made me pretty destructive and hard to kill.
With Soldier you want to spam Conc Shot. That's all I really know.
Adepts need fast cooldowns, so take a scoped Paladin or Carnifex.
Engineers are awesome for crowd control. Max Energy Drain on the Salarian Engineer and you can dominate pretty much anything. Combat Drones are pretty useful for distraction purposes. The Quarian Engineer's Sentry Turret isn't quite is useful damage wise, but it seems far more effective at distracting brutes and banshees. I've seen them literally just stand in front of it going "Ohhhhhh shiny!" and not moving. It's hilarious.

Yeah, this pretty much confirms that the indoctrination interpretation is going to be straight up rejected by the DLC. Obviously, those are the words of one writer and who knows if their team has even worked out the plot at this point, but it looks like they're just straight up taking the ending in all its current terribleness and running with it.
Also seems to confirm - if there was any doubt - that the "Takyris" dude or whatever his name was that posted on the Penny Arcade forums was totally Patrick Weekes.
From: PartOfYourWorld | #484 Bought a Premium Spectre Pack and got both the Krogan Sentinel and Salarian Infiltrator. This is good, right?
Also, how do you tell an Uncommon/Rare/Ultra Rare? The colors around the box?
Yes, the colors around the box (White/Gold/Black with an N7 stripe or something) will tell you.
A Spectre pack that costs 99,000 credits. It's guaranteed to have two Rares and a higher chance at an Ultra Rare. Not sure if it's limited time or what, but it's the one I saved up for tonight. A lot of people seem to be missing the Salarian Infiltrator and the pack helped me nab him, so I'd say it was worth it.

I bought another PSP tonight and got Drell Vanguard, Asari Vanguard, and Asari Adept (again) in it.
All I want is Turian Sentinel, dammit.

That sounds awesome. Even when getting Spectre packs I had some terrible luck. TWICE in a row I got an Asari Adept and other crap that I didn't want. And I already had an Asari Adept. So it was just experience that I didn't even need in the first place.
I have a lot of sniper rifles and I don't do a lot of sniping. So I tried out the Widow (which I have up to VI) and while it is nice to have one-shot one-kill, it kinda sucked when I'd get closed in on by a Banshee or Brute and had to run like a scared little girl.
Also, it weighs a ton and I hate the fact that you have to pull out of scoped view to reload after every shot. If I could get off 3-4 shots before having to reload that'd be nice. Are any other snipers like that? I also have a Mantis IV.

You also get more appearance options.

Black Widow has 3 shots before you have to reload. I prefer it to the Widow. But that is on SP because I don't have either weapon on multiplayer. Without the time dilation effect, I'm not sure. Widow might be better because it has more damage. I also assume it depends on your class, though.
Also if you're trying to be a sniper, you're a long range fighter. There is no shame in running away from a Banshee or Brute. You need to stay alive and trying to face them head on will most certainly get you killed. Don't ever think you're a coward for staying alive and helping your team.

Valiant. I think it's generally considered to be the best sniper (if not best gun) in the game. It fires three shots without a reload and the reload speed is laughably fast for a sniper.

Oh that's right... well that's good then.
From: ArPharazon412 | #492 I don't really have the patience to play through a bunch of games just to get the unlock packs. And I feel that's all I'm doing when I play MP.
Get good enough to play Gold matches and you'll get enough credits for a Spectre Pack in just one match.

Collector's Edition weapon.
I didn't think those were in MP.

Yeah, I mean the Widow wrecks s*** and all but it weighs a ton.
I can make the Mantis as powerful as the unmodded Widow, but I wonder if it'll have the same type of stopping power. Be nice to test it out first without having to jump into a match.
