Eh, I decided to just import a rather old save and selected Adept. I guess the basic strategy is going to be Warp -> Throw/Pull. Anything else I really need? Playing on Insanity, if that makes any difference.
Edit: Should I just arm myself with a Pistol, and rely on my Biotics? It seems like the better thing to do than get bogged down, and it lets me spam biotics because of the 1-2 second recharges on these powers.
Get Double Pull, use that, then use either Double Throw or Warp to set off an explosion. For shields, use Warp and then Throw to set off an explosion which will get rid of the shields. Having other Biotics with you helps a lot. Liara and Javik mainly. Biotic explosions all over.

I've come to the conclusion that engineers are broken. Chain overload is too good.
I actually had an easier time in Insanity with an Engineer, with all the distractions you can place on the battlefield, including Liara's Singularity and Javik's Slam. Crowd control out the ass.
