I've only played through the first three chapters (chapters 1 & 2 twice on higher intensities), but I'm really impressed at how dense this game is. It's overwhelming in the best way - the action is non-stop; the banter is quick and the right kind of campy; the amount of loot, unlockables, and options is crazy. It's just so good. The game never stops attacking all of your senses.
Who's got it so far, and how are you playing? I tried playing it on a bright, bumpy train this morning and that was unbearable. This thing was meant to be played on that stand (which is surprisingly comfortable!). The game is also proof that the 3DS needs another stick. The air battles are fine with the stylus, but once you're on the ground, you need the flexible controls a dual analog set-up offers.

Like I said, the air battles are fine, but once you're on the ground it can get a bit hectic. I'm sure after more than 40 minutes I'll be able to swipe the stylus to quickly turn around and then use the circle pad to give me a boost into a charged melee attack, but I'm gonna need time to adjust. There's a lot going on. Then again, I'm playing on a high intensity (7), so that may have something to do with it.
Nintendo really should've put up a demo yesterday. Who cares about Nintendogs + Cats?

The 3D looks great, especially because you can use the stand to keep it at an optimal length at all times. And all copies come with the stand, I believe.

On one hand, using the stylus with my left-hand is much more comfortable... but on the other hand, stand is pretty damn useful/comfortable and it doesn't hold the 3DS if it has the CPP on it (the 3DS doesn't stick, it just slides right off the holder).
... I haven't really tried using the CPP without the stand much, maybe I'll give it a try again, but damn I'm actually getting comfortable with right-handed controls with the stand. Geez, if I can be pretty comfortable with right-handed controls, I can't imagine how comfortable it must be for actual right-handed people!
As for using your thumb, I only tried it for just a second right now as I read your post, but it seems viable for lefties who really can't get used to holding the stylus with your right hand... I'm still using the stylus though.
it was supposed to be a launch 3DS game, so 'years ago' doesn't make sense. DS is just a year old. but it got delayed a few months. then a few months more. then they finally gave up and said it'll be out in January.
then delayed it to today.

From: Kaxon | Posted: 3/23/2012 9:46:09 PM | #026 Wait did this game just come out? I thought it was supposed to be out years ago. Or did they make another one??
also note that through all the delays the game just kept looking better. it's a clear labor of love. and a lot of people have been saying that it lives up to the hype it gave itself. which basically means kid icarus is now a franchise. <_<;

Played my first few rounds of multiplayer. Finished the enemy Pit with the Daybreak after our team was down something fierce in one game so that was p. cool.
