man, I was lamenting last night that my gamestop topic purged, but just as well, since this deserves its own topic
anyways, this is exactly what happened:
The store had about 8+ people in the store, and I was talking to some chick about some games, and she was looking for some sort of dungeon crawler, and I suggested Demon\Dark Souls
she then said
"Oh I heard about that, thats wayyy too hard for me. I'm not that hardcore, I'm just a small town girl"
Me:"Livin in a lonley world?"
then my coworker came in
"She took the Midnight train going anywhere"
Me:"I'm just a city boy, livin in south detroiiiiiit"
a Random customer: "He took the midnight train going anywherrrrre"
The Chick:"a singer in a smoky room hahaha"
a second random customer:" the smell of wine and cheap perfuuuuume"
a third random customer:"FOR A SMILE THEY CAN SHARE THE NIGHT"
Then EVERYONE in the store caught on and and at this point, we started singing "IT GOES ON AND ON AND ON AND ON
STANGERS
WAITING
UP AND DOWN THE BOULEVARD
THEIR SHADOWS
SEARCHING IN THE NIIIIIIGHT"
then another customer walked into the store and was witnessing all of this "STREET LIGHT
PEOPLE
LIVING JUST TO FIND EMOTION"
and then that customer that walked in, busted out
"HIDING, SOME WHERE IN THE NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT" and started doing an air guitar solo and we all laughed and applauded ourselves
tl;dr we all broke out intoa Journey song for next to no reason, like from a movie
This is a little too similar to that commercial I just watched. As such I kind of doubt its validity. But if it really happened, that's awesome Punny Bunny.

I can't believe people disbelieve this story but accept Pun randomly headbutting a car-jacker.
I find pun making dumb decisions to be entirely believable. I do not find random customers in a store to break out randomly into song..and not just breaking out into song, but each one singing a different line like in a movie to be believable.

I could believe it given a different setting and with some different circumstances. What you gotta realize is that even if this has happened in a bar there are a lot more people in a bar to chip in. 100% of the bar will not be chipping in there like in this scenario, I'm sure. Also they're drunk which means they're less inhibited, and they're at a bar in the first place which means they're probably less inhibited than your typical gamestop customer while sober even.
Then you throw in the chance that even if he had 100% willing people in the store there's a good chance there are a few people who don't actually know the lyrics of Don't Stop Believin (yes these people exist contrary to what some people in this topic might claim), not to mention the whole coordination factor of people singing in harmony instead of everyone just singing all at once in unison, and yeah, gets to be too much to believe. And while it's a nice touch from Pun's writers, the coincidence of using "Don't Stop Believin" as the song for this absurd story is too much to ignore as well.
Whereas with the headbutting a carjacker story you just have to believe Pun is that crazy and that a carjacker went after Pun's car. Not nearly as many assumptions to go with.
Though it all has me thinking that Pun is just conducting an elaborate social experiment to see how ridiculous he can get his stories until people call him on it. And so here we are.

Just because the carjacker story was more exciting doesn't make it less believable. Not by a long shot. Again it's all in how many assumptions you need to make for the story to make sense-- the headbutting story requires much less assumptions about people that aren't Pun-- in fact Pun's the only one acting in a way you wouldn't really expect there. (and we've already established he is a quirky character anyway) Even if you assume that people who are both willing to sing the song and know the song are fairly common to see in a Gamestop (which I wouldn't agree with in the first place, frankly), having a handful of them in the store sing with coordination with no people that don't join in gets to be really difficult. Even if it feels more mundane just the amount of assumptions you need to make makes it less feasible.

But people believed my cheesy ass story of me getting my first girlfriend (still a true story but cheesy as ****) so I don't think cheesiness is the problem.
I think it's just the whole that's too much, I would've believed it if only Pun and his coworkers had sung.
There's way more than 2 assumptions for Pun's carjacker story to be believable, and more of them are on the ridiculous side (like the whole "attacking a man outside a court-house with no repercussions" or "being able to disable an attacker with one headbutt while suffering no ill-effects themselves.")
I find this story more believable because all it requires is people A) knowing the lyrics to a famous song and B) not being shy. And like I said, this happened all the time where I worked so I don't find it all that unbelievable.
