I'm pulling for Tree of Life to at least win Cinematography. I haven't seen The Artist so I don't know if this hype is legit. Also, if I messed up on anyone's predictions, please tell me asap. And please check to make sure all the titles are similar across entries. I'm putting in the winners up top and that should match up and give points automatically. Entries are closed too btw...

Yeah, Scorsese is the only one I can see taking Best Director over Hazanavicius but I still think he'll win. One of my biggest complaints is Jessica Chastain getting nominated for her role in The Help and not Tree of Life. From what I heard, her role wasn't that great.

I wish I had gone to see The Artist instead of War Horse when given the chance a couple months ago. I mean...War Horse was decent but really not Best Picture nominee decent, imo. Really, none of the Best Picture nominees that I saw impressed me that much with the exception of maybe Hugo.
Since entries are closed, I figured it was safe to post this.
Mark Wahlberg says he has a friend on the inside, and already knows the winners of the major awards. Who are the winners? He revealed that too:
Christopher Plummer will win for Best Supporting Actor. Octavia Spencer will win for Best Supporting Actress. Transformers: Dark of the Moon will win for Best Sound Editing. Hugo will win Best Costume, Production [Design] and Cinematography. Jean Dujardin will win Best Actor. Viola Davis will win Best Actress. The Artist will win Best Picture.
Yay we can discuss it, in the mean time I've watched 8 of the best pics (am missing Extremely Loud but it has no chance). I most definitely think The Artist deserves to win. I thought it was overhyped but after seeing it, totally deserved, its not easy to make a silent film these days that is so captivating, but it is really well made. Midnight in Paris is my second favorite, such a great movie, but it will take original screenplay which normally is awarded to great movies. So my ranking goes: The Artist Midnight in Paris --No other movie is winning material for me The Descendants The Help Moneyball --Mediocre from now on War Horse --Bad from now on Hugo --What did I just watch? Tree of Life
I'd like for the descendants to win something, Clooney maybe, and the Help will get Octavia Spencer (although Im rooting for Chastain for a whole year that was worth it). Hugo was great technically, should take lots of awards there, but the movie itself was very uninteresting. The Tree of Life is a love/hate movie I guess, not for me, I do think Cinematography should be a shoe-in, although I'd give it to Hugo. My other choices are: Dujardin for Actor, he really is brilliant in it; Streep for Actress, Viola Davis didn't do it for me, I liked Rooney Mara better than her too, but Streep made Iron Lady watchable (barely); Plummer for Sup. Actor, Beginners' recognition I guess. Beginners was my second favorite movie of the year after The Artist, very touching movie. Ive already said Midnight in Paris for Original, but i gotta say what the hell is Bridesmaids doing here? It was terrible, 50/50 deserved that spot, or Beginners...
Just for fun, my top 10 of the year: 1. The Artist 2. Beginners 3. Drive 4. Midnight in Paris 5. Warrior 6. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo 7. The Descendants 8. The Help 9. Harry Potter 7.2 10. Moneyball
The only movies that I really want to watch but havent yet are Extremely Loud and A Separation.
Yeah, everything in there is just a test. I can get the rankings to work but I have to manually sort them every time. I'm trying to figure out how to get it to do it automatically.
