Slightly over 100 episodes, I guess that's not a bad run when you consider the type of show it is and the circumstances around it. The main appeal to the show was the triple dynamic between her, Gary and Dark Gary. The last one had a guest host, but Gary with himself Dark Gary definitely can not carry the series, along with the fact that I'm not sure anyone can fill her shoes. The Gary and Dark Gary thing went from being a really kool part of the show to just feeling sad and depressing. I hadn't watched since 12/15/2011 (I possible saw the episode on 12/22/2011 but I don't think I did, I think I checked the Nintendo channel too early). The trailers that they chose to put on the Nintendo Channel itself (by that I mean the ones on the front 12 pages, not the stuff you can search for (I think it's 12 pages now)) also acts as enough of a summary of what's around that I'm not sure the show can hold up just based on the fact it tells you what's new that they think is good (along with some of it just being new) (along with having other sites that have top picks and newest stuff out). This was possible the best standard type show still around (though it was essentially a web series, but other then that it pretty much had everything in common with a regular show (a short one though like robot chicken)) , so I'll be pretty sad to see it go (standard show or not, I'd be pretty sad to see it go anyway though).

None of you guys know what Nintendo Week is???

It's a show that's been on the Nintendo Channel (a channel that's on the Wii that was made to show you previews of trailers). It has hosts that pretty much tell you about upcoming games, but they also do funny skits. I don't think it started as soon as the Nintendo Channel started, but it's been running since around 6 months to a year since it started almost once a week, which I think was somewhere around 2008. Don't knock it, it's awesome.

And I forgot to mention that they skipped a couple weeks in January 2012, so I didn't have too much catching up to do.

Also, they do archive the shows on the actual channel, but sometimes it takes them awhile, so if I miss episodes I usually just catch up on youtube.

i honestly didn't know anyone bothered with any of the Nintendo Channels.

I'm still surprised people buy Virtual Console games >_>

Don't wreck my mind by telling me that people use stuff like Nintendo Weather Channel and... whatever this topic is about.

I don't know, I've been watching it though, I figured some people did and didn't expect to get this type of response. Maybe I should have just posted it on the Wii boards. The entire series is only like 20 hours long, so i's not too time consuming. I haven't been watching too many TV shows within the past year or two, most of my time is spent gaming and doing other various things, so atleast recently, this ranks up pretty high for me.

Currently the shows I watch consist of...

pretty much every show on the fox block, including whatever runs at 7:30

Bleach

Robot Chicken

Mad

Boondocks (not sure if they're gona make another season of this)

and

Futurama (if they're even gona make another season of that).

Durarara I watched within the last year (almost forgot about this show), it doesn't beat that, and I think there were one or two more things within the last 2 years, but I'm pretty sure Nintendo Week would give them a run for their money (and there were a few things within that time that could possible be considered web series, but I don't think any of them beat Nintendo Week). As far as the other shows I listed, atleast in recent years, Bleach is probably the best one there, and I'd put Nintendo Week right around it.

I'd buy a hell of a lot more VC games if they didn't keep coming out with super obscure turbographix 16 games every week.

If you count Wii Ware (and new downloadable games on other systems), there are definitely some decent games in there, I download some demos, but the ones I actually bought for Wii were,

Donkey Kong Jr Math (NES) (this wasn't that good though)

Final Fantasy 4 The After Years (WiiWare) (it's an 8/10 at a minimum)

Dart Rage (WiiWare) (was a Christmas Present for my Dad a few years ago, but it was alright)

Tetris Party (WiiWare) (Didn't get to play it that much but it's pretty good).

For PS3 I got Super Star Dust HD (new game) for free when PS3 got hacked, I recently beat normal and got about halfway in hard (hard doesn't get unlocked in this game, there are 5 levels to every planet and 5 planets, when you beat the 5th planet on normal you cycle through to hard and keep going to other difficulties until you die, but if you do die, you can start from the 5th planet on normal). You can also play each planet individually and beat them on normal, which I did but it doesn't really matter. You can get all of it's DLC for $10 which includes extra modes, and I'll probably do tha since the game was pretty decent.

For the DSi XL I wound up getting a free game (that was new) but it wasn't that good (which I actually had to rebuy cause my DSi XL got stolen) (I tried to hold out on even buying this and wanted to just wait for the 3ds since it would be backwards compatible and I never owned any DS, but I hit a wall at one point where I really wasn't sure what I wanted to do, and my backlog was big enough (though just barely) with this that I could justify buying it and catching up) The free game wasn't that good though.

My 3DS I haven't even used yet, I hope to though within the next couple of months

Today I also saw that they released Strider in the Wii Shop Channel. I assumed he was either from some old fighting game with bad controls or possible just a comic. He had 4 games though (more if you count ports), 1 of them being unofficial, they were pretty much platformers but sort of like Ninja Gaiden. The one they released is the one from the arcade that got ported to the Sega Genesis. I spent like an hour looking into the series, and that game looked pretty awesome, it's probably the best in the series, and if you don't count that it's a port, I'd almost argue that it looks like it could be the best game on the Sega Genesis. I wish I knew about it earlier.

The best Strider game is the NES one, Mozzezz.

Anyway, this reminds me that PSN's weekly show also has an attractive host... an Asian one, at that. Still not compelling enough to actually watch it regularly.

NES Strider was awesome, I loved that game. It has very little in common with any other games in the series and is (from what I understand) more directly based on the manga. Has more of an attempt at a plot than the other versions (though still low quality, it is 8-bit, but they tried) and has some exploration elements. It's no Metroid, and it has a lot of flaws, but I think there's some good ideas in it.

Favorite part: When you ask for a password to quit the game, you get a next episode preview telling you what's coming up the next time you play. I'd never seen anything like that and it made me excited to keep going. Even now, I can't think of many games that did anything like that.

More on-topic, I hadn't heard of Nintendo Week before. Sorry.

My favourite part of the NES Strider was that I couldn't get past a certain section, but I had a bunch of passwords, and they followed a certain pattern, so I just used the same pattern, creating a password past the section I was in that actually worked. And I just continued from there and, eventually, beat the game. Good times.

Hmmmm, I don't know about that, the NES beats the Genesis at almost everything but I don't know about this game. The Genesis one I actually watched a complete play through of it, and not only does it have the kool stuff you see in the initial levels and some of the kool power ups he's known for, it actually has gravity reversal at one point (though short and only in 2d), in a game that was made in 1989 (it was ported to the Genesis later though, that's when it was made in the Arcade, but even so, when it was ported, the game itself, along with that feature especially, was still pretty unique). I didn't watch the full NES game, but the circumstances around it, including pacing, suggest to me that it doesn't have that. Still though, it wouldn't have been too bad to own on the NES either. Here's the full play through I watched of the Genesis one (it says Arcade but it's the same game), it's two parts (but only 15 minutes total)...

Was it the first Wall Jump section? The game never really explains that it's possible and the timing is frustratingly precise; I still can't do them consistently and just stumbled onto it by chance.
