I don't know what the expect from the White Sox this year or any of the teams in the AL Central. The only thing that I can say with confidence is that the Twins will not be winning the division

Any real AL Central fan knows that the Twins can win the division regardless of their roster because f*** the Twins.

Finally a cause that can unite Detroit and Cleveland.

Wouldn't be surprised at all if Burnett turned out a pretty decent season this year after the trade. Less pressure and a more pitcher friendly park.

Based on?

They should easily be the favorite out of the NLC, the same division that had the WS winners last year. They won the NLC just a year ago and have a much better team now than they did then. As long as Stubbs isn't an offensive black hole and Madson works out as a closer there's no reason they can't compete for the WS.

Also Peter Bourjos is a great late round pick-up for anyone doing fantasy leagues. Kid is going to have a great year batting in front of Pujols.

I'd expect a 20/85/65/30 line at the very least. Maybe better.

NL East: Phillies

AL West: Angels
Wildcard: Rangers

WS: D-backs over the Angels in 6

Easily? Nah. They are improved, but even with the Cardinals losing Pujols, they gain Wainwright back, and added Beltran who is still pretty damn good when healthy. I still have the Cardinals as the favorite. The Reds could still get hot and incredibly lucky like the Cardinals did last year and make a run, but those chances are pretty slim.

Brewers are a none factor cause of the Braun suspension, and even if that's overturned I don't see them winning the division. Pirates may have a chance at .500 this time around, and well the Astros are complete ass.

We'll have to disagree. Even a healthy Beltran doesn't come close to replacing Pujols and it doesn't help that he's 35 and in the downturn of his career. The whole line-up will suffer the lack of Pujols and I could see a drop in numbers from pretty much everyone due to his absence.

The Reds are better than the Cards everywhere except rotation (line-up, fielding, bullpen), and with the addition of Latos they get pretty close in the rotation (assuming Wainright even returns to form with no lingering injury problems.)

Meanwhile there's no chance that Stubbs is as bad as he was last year as they're not dumb enough to leave him in the lead-off spot (his approach just doesn't fit it.) He should be batting 2nd or 6th. He'd be really protected in the 2nd spot with Phillips leading off and batting in front of Votto and Bruce...and likewise he's going to be in a good low-pressure position at 6th (where he broke out.)

Brewers are a none factor cause of the Braun suspension, and even if that's overturned I don't see them winning the division. Pirates may have a chance at .500 this time around, and well the Astros are complete ass.

I mostly agree -- though reports are that Braun may avoid suspension or get a reduced sentence due to some kind of error with the procedure in collecting his samples. Hard to say -- but the loss of Fielder will hit them big anyway.

I have pretty much the same thing, just with the Braves as the NLWC and the Rangers beating out the Angels

playoffs are such a crapshoot so who knows about that

I'd probably take Phillies > Rangers in 6 because PITCHING, but the Phils offense could definitely hamstring them in the end again

Yeah pretty much. I just threw Arizona in there because 1.) I'm a homer and 2.) I feel they have the best mix of good to great pitching, to great offense. Angels, because well, they have good pitching(I love Haren), and the Pujols bandwagon.

NLWC has the hardest thing to predict, I think most divisions have a clear favorite, but then there is a lot teams you could throw in for the WC. ALWC is a bit easier, probably come down to Angels and Rangers race, perhaps TB and Boston, but I don't see either team making it.

I really don't understand why people are picking the Cardinals to win the division over a team that, on paper, should be better. Especially after losing their best player and their manager.

AL East: Yankees
AL Central: Tigers
AL West: Angels
Wildcard: Red Sox

NL East: Phillies
NL Central: Reds
NL West: Arizona
Wildcard: Giants

if you think Ichiro can't bat leadoff anymore

what makes you think he can bat third

and then why Figgins

how can that be better than Ichiro

why haven't you kicked that dude out into the street, seriously

Pretty sure they're still deciding between Figgins and Ackley as lead-off. Ackley is a beast and would be great at lead-off. Unfortunately that limits his RBI opportunities and I'd rather he batted 2nd at least.

Oh, now the article says: "The first option to replace Suzuki will be Chone Figgins, although Wedge said he's not set on his Nos. 1 and 2." I'm pretty sure it didn't say that when I checked before. Ackley leadoff, Figgins 2 makes a lot more sense with both of them.

He has a shot at 50 steals, but 50 HR's? I think teams will be more likely to walk him, this which would lead to the 50 steals, but he also will be trying to steal against 2 of the better defensive catchers in Montero and Posey.

He has the skills to do it, I just don't see him pulling it off. Hell, there are only a handful of players that have potential to pull off 40-40 in the league right now; Kemp, Justin Upton, Braun and Granderson. Out of those 4, I think Kemp and Upton are the only 2 to probably pull it off, both are also quite capable of getting to 50-50 as well, Upton more so because he is in a great situation right now, with the protection he will have in the lineup. Goldschmidt, Montero, Young can all protect him, Kemp only has Ethier, who is also coming off an injury.
