I liked Flurrie.

And in battle Flurrie is pretty easily my favorite. Overall though, I'm not sure between Goombella and Yoshi for my favorite in TTYD.

I completely disagree, but I respect your opinion. I just love the designs of the partners in Paper Mario 64. They're simple and memorable.

As for Watt, yeah she's really good because she can pierce defenses. Her special abilities suck though, but whatever.

Special abilities aren't really that big a deal anyway unless you need to hit multiple enemies or you're attacking a weakness (like Sushie in the chapter with all the fire s***). Multibonk would be great, except basically everything later in the game has defense, so it's useless. It's usually best to just have Watt smack things for 5 damage per turn.

Actually, I think my real answer to this question is "I don't have a favorite partner, but I do have a favorite badge: Quick Switch."

It's too bad they nerfed Quick Switch in TTYD by nearly doubling the cost, but it was probably necessary, especially since TTYD gives partners health.

My prefered strategy is to attack all enemies at one time, or to countinuously hit them (like with Power Bounce and Multi Bonk) since I do low HP runs. With the right badge and partner setup, it's not hard to defeat a group of four enemies quickly and with ease, even in Chapter 8. The Spike Shield should be used in most of Chapter 8 because of Koopatrols, and Multibounce works great at knocking Koopatrols over. So the main enemy with defense are the Bony Beetles which can be flipped, Hammer Bros., and Dry Bones. Dry Bones need to be killed with fire anyways.

Watt for my crappy low level runs because anti-defense is the easiest thing to use.

Goombario for my awesome, let's both charge up for 5 turns and then use Multijump for max damage run.

I think we're going to see a lot, as partners have downgraded from individualistic characters to drones. At least, that's what the evidence points to, as in most screen shots and videos, Mario is seen with either a plain Chomp, a plain Toad, or he's all by himself. That leads me to believe we're going to have a lot of random drones to choose from, but they're keeping most of them a secret.

She's too ridiculous not to use, especially when you start getting to the late-game, with plenty of enemies with high defenses that are difficult for your other partners to damage without using their FP. Parakarry is a close second though; he has great specials and an effective standard attack.

Probably Carrie. I liked using Bowser most of the time that I wasn't needing to flip and Carrie helped to make him much faster.

As far as personality, all of them were almost devoid of it aside from maybe Slim and Thoreau. From what I remember.
