Fighting low level enemies was a cheap way to pad it out though. The fact that you have to do the whole thing multiple times to complete the sidequest sucks too.

Fun storyline, but still kind of an annoying waste of time at times.

I think the Glitz Pit can feel a bit overly long and grindy at times, but part of that almost feels like it's the point. You have to fight a lot of fights before you get to the champ, and it actually feels like you have accomplished something by then, because you have to go through a whole lot of s*** to get to that point, both in the fights and in between the fights, so I kind of appreciate that.

It's also just a really rad idea for a setting and I think a lot of the fights are well-designed - it's probably one of the more challenging sections of any Paper Mario game, since they throw what basically amounts to a lot of mini-bosses at you. Rawk Hawk himself isn't a joke either. I wish he was stronger the second time you fight him, doing the Glitz Pit for the second time is pretty disappointing in how not rewarding it is.

Oh, although that said, the actual best part of the first two Paper Mario games is actually the chapter immediately after the Glitz Pit.

I'm basically considering Super Paper Mario to be its own separate thing, it's not even really the same kind of game. You're right though, it has nothing better. Super Paper Mario is a fun game, but it isn't even close to touching the brilliance of the other two.

It's hard work living as a sloth, but he finds time to relax.

That Doopliss chapter had its cool parts, but having to go through Twilight Trail like eight times severely hurts it. It ended up as the worst part of the game for me.
