Sorozone posted... I watch videos just to see hot Korean women.
This is mainly why I look videos up, then I just end up liking some of the songs too. Even though I have NO idea what is being said, some of them are so catchy!

I like some kpop I mainly follow SNSD, f(x) and 2NE1 as far as girl groups go. Kara has some pretty hot members as well, I always love seeing the sig gif someone has of their "Mr" MV.
SNSD is outgrowing kpop like BOA did right now only on a much larger stage and scale, so i'd expect a lot of people do but don't even realize it.
and yes, i'm a fan. been a fan for the better part of 10 years, but i don't really follow it. i've a few preferences for jpop and between anime and con-going i get a decent amount of exposure and recommendations there, as well as just plain what i know (e.g., I've Sound).
kpop i don't have much of anything going for it but recommendations and occasionally stumbling. do like the song from 1st post though. to bring it back a bit:
was what really got me into it. SES fan.

Actually first time I've heard a S.E.S. song all the way through... That sounds really... Ace of Base like... Which I mean, that's kind of a good thing...

well i'll warn you in advance most of the other SES stuff ends up being hiphop heavy. which has gotten more mixed in the genre over time. there's still a decent amount that aren't and are still pretty pop-y, but dreams come true was a pretty unique one for 'em.
but the vocals are always quite sweet sounding. when singing anyway.

alright, i've got time here. so time for me to catch up.
- dug After School the most so far. just really like their style, it's simpler and softer. the biggest problem i have with a lot of female kpop groups - especially those who take on a similar style to what SNSD's delivered - is that so much is styled for clubs. i'll like a lot of them, but i kinda find a lot of songs getting lost in a shuffle of similarly done songs. some will stand out, mainly the ones with more 'pop' or weird stuff (seriously are they singing about a pink rocket, and the Paijima one from Girl's Day was nice) but it's a kind of oversaturation being felt.
- i also was pretty damn impressed with the MV for Sixth Sense. not just the song - which has a goddamn soul singer for a lead from the sounds of it - but the video's friggin' awesome. the song though sounds like somebody smashed soul into pop. this one impressed me, Brown Eyed Girls?
will need to keep an eye on those two groups. and i guess occasional Girl's Day but that just strikes me as taking on the 'oh so cute' until they go into the club scene. ditto for Dal Shabet.

didn't really like supaluv. did enjoy the perfume one.
and i suppose on a related note (since it's a boy band) TVXQ! is also rather interesting. their videos are more absurd and like they're meant for an action flick in both instances shown. and the music matches it. so i can totally respect that.

Huh? Rambling Girls is trance you know... Although, I guess it's been a while since trance was being played in clubs... Unfortunately... But still, I'd call that "club friendly". Ohwell, atleast we can agree that it's consistently quality.
And yeah, that vid for Sixth Sense is awesome. It's basically a big "EFF YOU" to the Korean record industry. I mean, as I'm sure you not, personal freedom is not really a big thing there and this pretty much calls that out. Really gutsy move by them and I'm slightly surprised they pulled it off. But since their label is a comparatively small one, I guess they at this point has the influence to do whatever they want. Another reason to like BEG is the fact that the group was actually created by the members themselves, not by the label, which at this point is virtually unique in the k-pop world. Sure, they still had to go through the regular years long training routine, but it seems like ever since its inception they've been able to be in control of their own careers, which the Sixth Sense vid would be another indication of.
Also, Girl's Day actually kinda started out less girly, atleast briefly:
But when that didn't work as well, Banjjak Banjjak happened and well, rest is history...

Honestly, I think it's the language. It sounds really good.
It is kind of a silly question to ask on a board like this. There is bond to be at least some kind of group that would like it. Though it isn't a bad thing he asked, as it gave us a reason to post links to Kpop MVs.
