B8's donation comes to $129. Where should it go? Not many charities were mentioned in the original topic, but ones used in the past include World Wildlife Federation, Wounded Soldiers, Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, and Prevent Child Abuse.
Discuss it here and I'll eyeball a consensus, or if y'all want to organize a more formal way to decide, be my guest. I'd like to make the donation on New Year's Day, but if y'all want to take longer to decide more formally, feel free.

I feel like there's not enough research being done on these. The medicine for it is extremely expensive ($5000 injections every 8 weeks, $400 for one pill for a month, etc.).

This is where Board 8's donation went last time as well -- my fiancee suffers from the same thing.

Honestly, I think the reason why it's skipped over a bit is because it's not quite as lethal as cancer, and it doesn't really appeal to anyone else than people with it and people that know other people with it.
Yeah, it's not lethal, but it's painful, debilitating, and currently expensive. The treatments involve decreasing your immune system down to a point where it won't attack your intestinal tract anymore, allowing you to become sick really easily.

Put me behind this one.

Detroit made a 500 topic where every post would earn a certain amount of money that he would donate...I think it was supposed to be up to 125$ but then some mods posted a couple extra posts.
