Not that I enjoy the idea of jumping to Apple's defense, but I'm pretty sure the vulgar words are added to the dictionary by the user and then that's when they start popping up in the autocorrect.

Yeah, things get added when you use unusual words (especially if you use them many times)

My phone used to autocorrect "so" to "^^^^SO" just because I typed that ONE TIME ("^^^^SO CLASSIC" below a picture)
I just disabled autocorrect because it ****ed me too many times

I could be wrong but I'm PRETTY sure Android is aware of a wide selection of vulgar words and specifically WON'T add those through repeated use like it will for others, though I believe you can manually add them.

Of course not all of these people needed vulgarity to get themselves into trouble.

Mistake you're making - overlooking the fact that we might not want to be saved.

If you misspell a long word, autocorrect will approximate it to the closest correctly spelled word in an attempt to not make you look like an idiot. But more often then not it does just what it attempts to NOT do, especially if you misspell a short word. Just a day or two ago I accidentally hit the m key instead of n and autocorrect adjusted "any" to "Amy" because of that. Then there was that time autocorrect prompted me to type "Nidoking" instead of "becoming". This was shortly after I got my smartphone and I had no idea words you saved couldn't be removed... EVER. Oy vey. >_>

My crappy phone that isn't a smart phone has the same type of problem with the T9. I once had to type in B8, because I was texting Anri, and I didn't realize that if I added that word it would forever take priority over the word "at". So now B8 comes up every time I want to say "at" and it's really f***ing annoying.

I've seen #5 before...I had thought I was seeing a copy of the original, but maybe it was just forwarded. Regardless, f***weasel is now a part of my friends' vocabulary. Some of these other ones were awesome, though.
