I haven't done this in a long time, and I'm not in a.... sober state of mind at this moment, but I need a writing project, so I might as well start here. I don't have many details worked out, I just know that there will be Board 8 users involved as well as video game characters. Some of you will be heroes, some of you will be villains. Same for the video game characters.

So basically all I request of you right now is to obviously sign up with a name for your character, skills, abilities, background, story, appearance, weapons, yatta yatta, blah blah. Say as much or as little as you want. Give a huge profile or a small one. I can work with whatever you give me.

GET CREATIVE! As much as possible.

I have no limit to the sign ups at the moment, but just know that if you're late... I might not have room for you. I really don't have any details on this project right now. I just know it will indeed be a story. Whether it's good is left to be decided, but it will indeed be a story. That's all that matters right now.

Yeah, get to signing up and stuff.

Meh, fine.

Name: The Eternal Eye.

Character: Varies, depending on which persona it is assuming. It does everything in it's power so the current persona's version of absolute control comes to pass. In it's true self, it wishes for absolute control of everything, and speaks as if it already rules over everything. That said, some personas are benevolent dictators, while other are no more than bullies.

Skills: Varies, depending on the current persona. Known abilities it can use are Future Sight, Electrokinesis, and Necromancy. In it's true form, it can use all of it.

Abilities: Multiple Choice Past. The entity continues to persist despite dying, because sooner or later another person becomes it. If the current persona wishes to continue existing at that exact same time, it will immediately reconfigure the body after it dies and revive a previous persona, while still retaining the current ideal. If all previous persona up to that time is exhausted, the current persona dies for real, and the entity has to wait until a later time when someone else matches it's way of thinking. Then it can revive all previous forms should the new one die. It can also freely switch between the title holders as it deems necessary, but dead forms are off limits.

Background: Initially just an alias taken on by an ancient oracle who headed the Eternal Eye cult a long time ago, various figures throughout history has assumed the name, initially thought to be just a progression of titles passing from one person to another. In reality, the Eternal Eye is an unusual being that takes over the moment someone matches it's ideology, that is, one who wishes to absolutely control all aspects of the world, creation, and everything. It was thought to be either born from the first Eternal Eye's last fervent wishes, or the oracle was the first that matched it's ideology and consequently the first instance it appeared, but it's true self exists outside of reality. Known titleholders are the female oracle who wished to guide the world to the ending she foresees, a female electromaster who wished for absolute control so no one needs to feel sorrow, and a male Lich who wished to rule the entire multiverse.

Appearance: Varies, but usually garbed in clothing that hides the entire body and face. It's true form is a hideous amalgam of all who became it, and will become it.

Weapons: Varies, depending on the persona used.

Big Bad level: Pretty damn big!

How to Kill: What normally kills each persona will kill it, but the real thing... requires some pretty big time hax/reality manipulation.

'oh'

In that case sure, let's throw the setting another dude to anchor itself around. Comes with a big batch of plot hooks 'n stuff so you can iron things out and reject what doesn't fit.

Name: Reid Belcry.

Age: 15

Appearance: Reid is a very tall, gangly youth, towering over other people his age at six feet and four. He is nearly skeletally thin, as if his body had expanded vertically instead of horizontally, and drawn from the material destined to filling up his frame for that purpose. His hair falls down to his waist in disorderly fashion and is mildly spiky around his scalp, jutting upwards a bit. He has prominent cheeks and thin lips, but a short nose and a rounded chin. His nails are rather uneven and jagged, clearly having been broken at some point in time, at odds with the otherwise delicate, precise air of his hands, which move as though accustomed to dealing with fragile things. He is most often dressed in a nondescript black jumpsuit with matching work boots and often carries a backpack around when away from home. After his powers awaken, his eye color shifts from a normal white-brown-black, going from the outer sclera to the inner pupil, to black-black-white, giving his eyes a rather unnerving look.

Personality: Reid, like most other geniuses, has three key qualities: brilliance, determination and eccentricity.

Brilliance, because he is quite possibly the smartest person currently alive (or rather, one of the people with the highest potential to become the smartest human being alive), superhumanly boosted intellects notwithstanding, possessing a keen grasp of mathematics, as well as a level of understanding in excess of that provided by a college-level education on several branches of science and engineering. An endless creative energy seems to fuel him, and he can be frequently find mumbling to himself about designs ("so if we removed an engine and added three gyroscopes to increase the machine's balance, then maybe..."), or working on sketches and blueprints for his ideas. Confronted with a peer in one of his areas of interest, he will be all too glad to exchange notes, as he has had a sheltered childhood away from most human contact, and what few chances he has had to speak with other scholarly people have been mostly one-sided and limited to rigid formal instruction.

Determination, because Reid is tremendously committed to his projects. He is never one to truly shelve a design, instead working hard to change it, adapt it, or integrate it to an accepted idea, in an act of hidden defiance. Though he isn't one to be overt about it, Reid's insistence on doing things the way he wants to do them borders on being suicidal. He will follow other peoples' whims without question at times, but will absolutely not compromise when something he truly cares about is at risk.

And lastly, Reid is eccentric because...well, he is rather odd, frankly speaking. He is very much not used to dealing with people his age, which causes him to be acutely aware of his actions: he is interested in making contact with his peers, but deathly afraid of ridicule. Consequently, he speaks in a very hesitant, timid manner except when science is involved, at which point he loosens up considerably, showcasing a rich vocabulary, and occasionally even a sense of humor and knack for clever metaphors. In spite of his size and rather menacing looks, he is not an imposing person and he barely stands out in a crowd, perhaps because he is so withdrawn from events happening around him that he ends up beneath notice. While he's not afraid to stand up for his beliefs, he prefers to avoid conflict and seek out peaceful solutions, being a kind, gentle spirit. He also has tastes that could be called underdeveloped, for lack of a better word. Having been raised on classical music and books and nothing else, he remains ignorant beyond a basic level on movies, television, and modern music, which are a source of endless entertainment and surprise for him, when he comes across them.

Background: "Level 7 clearance detected. Restoring Project War Mind files.

Reid Belcry (henceforth referred to as the Subject of the project) is gifted with prodigious mental faculties, with rough estimates pegging him at the level of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Aristotle, Galileo, or Leonardo Da Vinci, or possibly even above them. The Subject is the first, and to date, only successful scion of the project, and one of the first-generation subjects of the Kid Ego Program, which aims to further our understanding of the human genome and its influence in the development of sharp mental and physical faculties by breeding, then raising exemplary leaders, soldiers and scientists.

The War Mind project has a very specific aim: since the events of Incident Zero, new measures to disable or control superhumans have become a priority. The Subject, having displayed incredible mental acuity, was a perfect fit for the job of equipment and weapons designer. So far, he has only managed to produce prototypes, as the models have been shown to have flaws, but there is potential in them and some have begun to approach stages of mass production. Enough information should have been collected by next Fall to reach a conclusive decision.

The Subject's personal details are as follow: born in the month of May, on the 5th day, 12:04 AM, he was raised according to total solitude specifications, with no contact with other children, either Kid Egos or civilians, except for one instance detailed below. Psychological development has been normal so far, with a certain tendency toward introversion within expected margins.

As with all other Kid Egos, the Subject has been assigned an Overseer, whose job is to motivate the Subject into fulfilling his duties, as well as monitor his progress. The Overseer reports that the Subject reacts favorably to stimulation, particularly of the competitive sort, and relishes in exposure to creative works. He seems particularly fond of Beethoven and Debussy, with a certain interest in Handel and Bach, and his favorite books are Huckleberry Finn and Jules Verne's offerings. Unlike most other solitary Kid Egos, he has not imprinted upon the Overseer, treating him with respect and formality instead of the love and adoration given to fatherly figures.

Exactly three years ago, on his twelfth birthday, the Subject was taken to meet the subject of the Amazing Flight project, as part as the general interpersonal communication test. Reaction was extremely positive, as the Subject and the Amazing Flight subject established a connection within ten minutes of touching the subject of aerodynamics. The letters sent by the Subject indicate a desire for further contact, as well as willingness to work with others, a rare trait among Kid Egos. As per the usual protocols, letters that might reveal details about the Program have been confiscated, though communication continues to this day in spite of no further face-to-face meetings.

(For more information concerning the Amazing Flight subject's reactions, see her progress reports.)"

At the start of the story, Reid is currently stationed at a hidden government facility in Roswell, Colorado (not the site of the alien crash in New Mexico, but a small town of the same name), where he has lived all his life, and is soon to awaken to his powers as a metahuman.

Powers: Technopathy, the ability to manipulate technology on the fly and produce strange effects with it. The catch is that Reid can't create tech out of thin air: he needs appropriate materials to work with, though he can modify them radically once he has them (so he couldn't create a raygun out of sand, but sheet metal and a powerline to draw power from could do the trick).

Sorry for the length! I figured I might as well put forward a character who brings a little corner of the setting with him, since you said you wanted to build the story around the characters..

Name: Tenma Akuma

Character: One of those guys who act like a detached jerkface who actually does care but never shows it. He enjoys testing people, which often involves attacking them, saying mildly cryptic stuff, somehow demonstrating his superiority to the person attacked, then leaving. On the whole though, he's weary of having fought for so long against people who honestly thought that their terrible actions were for the best for humanity or what/whoever they fight for.

Skills: Expert swordsman, and extremely knowledgeable about almost all fighting styles. His base form is only slightly stronger than the average human, and his old wounds often trouble him in combat. He has the innate ability to judge a person's actions throughout their life by simply looking them in the eye. Has minor control over the souls of the deceased. Can summon various demons, including any demon he defeats in combat. He can conjure up a miasma that negates magic attacks, though the miasma can be overwhelmed. It is especially potent against light magic, and has reduced potency against dark magic.

Abilities: He can convert his soul into aura, which boosts his combat performance. The first level simply boosts his parameters. The second causes him to grow mostly solid fangs/claws of aura, and causes his sword to change into its second form (see weapons). This form exhausts him when he leaves it. Third form transforms him into a large demon, massively boosting his parameters but lowering his overall agility and combat skill. When reverting to normal after using this, he is drained to the point of defenselessness, and any injuries he takes int he form will take longer than usual to heal. Final form is suicidal, and turns his entire body and soul into aura, which is his ultimate state but causes him to disperse over time, causing his inevitable death.

Background: Born as the son of the lord of hell Shukun, and Kahlan, a healer with extreme healing capabilities. For part of his childhood he grew up in hell, befriending the demon weapon Mashin. However, Kahlan escaped hell and took her son with him. However, they were found by the Order of the Light, and Kahlan was forced to abandon him. He then wandered the world, eventually making friends with a blacksmith, Aldremech, who forged Mashin into its current form. Aldremech grew sick and confided in Tenma his wish that peace could return to the land. Tenma gathered a group of powerful warriors and basically waged a war of terrorism against the corrupt Order of the Light, while also sparing people from the few rampaging demons who were sent from hell by Shukun to weaken the Order. Eventually however, he was ousted from his leadership of the group by an extremely powerful violent psychopath, and he was forced to flee the continent to avoid death.

Appearance: He typically wears a black cloak over plain black clothes, and he wears black bandages covering half his face. He has sharp red eyes, a rather gaunt face. Half of his face is more or less melted off, and his body is covered with nastly looking scars and mostly healed wounds from the fight with the psychopath.

Weapons: Mashin, the demon sword. It is a two handed sword with a jagged crack running all the way down the blade. It can hinge open along the crack, revealing itself to be the maw of the demon forged into the blade. There is an eye on the hilt. The sword has four forms. First is the base form. Second occurs when Tenma reaches the second auric state, and extends the blade somewhat, grows four tentacles around the hilt which can be used for maneuvering or inhibiting the enemy's movement, and gains a long barbed tounge which it uses to impale and drag in enemies. Third form is when Tenma turns into a giant demon, and is more or less the same as the second form but scaled up. The final form goes with Tenma's final form. Mashin converts most of its power into a stabilizing force to keep Tenma alive longer in his final form, and the rest is converted into pure crystallized miasma. It appears as a red crystalline katana, which can cut through and absorb magic of any form. When Tenma dies after using the form, Mashin's soul goes with him, leaving behind the Katana in a much weakened state. It still negates magic, but not as well as it previously did. Anyone who comes in contact with it will have the evil of their past actions forcefully ripped out of them, which will hurt the good/neutral, and often outright kill the truly evil.

Sounds neat. I made a character for a story before, so I'll just use her again. I'll change some things and leave some things purposefully vague so you can do what you want with them.

Name: Lilandra
Age: 22
Physical description: A tall, lanky woman with long, wavy black hair and piercing green eyes. Her eyes are her most distinguishable feature. She often wears a dark cloak to conceal her identity
Background: She has some serious.....daddy issues. I'll let you do what you want with that. She works by her self in a tiny little office researching a bizarre and mysterious event that occured around the time of her birth.
Personality: A cold woman, she doesn't really enjoy social gatherings, and enjoys time to herself. She often uses her wit to get out of sticky situations.
Skills: Lilandra is very adept with knives. She keeps her signature knife (a kriss), Blood Daisy, underneath her desk in a little red box. She is also very skilled at running and climbing.
Other: She wears an emerald pendant that resembles the color of her eyes. It glows with a strange power whenever she's in a high stress situation.

Well, that's all I can remember from off the top of my head.

Name: Luka Alaryaa, of the Alaryaan Clan

Gender: Female

Skills: Gifted in the art of wielding the twin sword. Also a master seafood chef. Not above slicing and dicing shellfish with twin swords.

Abilities: Can make a mean bbq sauce, magic abilities include nada at the moment, but as a Knight of Ioria, she has the propensity to learn elemental offensive spells and shield-making spells. Healing and buff spells are not a Knight's stronghood.

Background: One of a long line of warrior monks and nuns sworn to serve and/or protect the religious figurehead of the land of Ioria. At the age of sixteen (considered the dawn of [wo]manhood to Iorians) anyone born into this clan must either swear to protect and/or serve the current priest or priestess of Ioria or face excommunication and leave their family and their homeland forever. Once sworn in, the Rites of Passage seperates those worthy of protecting the figurehead, and those too weak to fight. Those who pass are granted the Salvation of the Panther-God (See Appearance). Those who fail the Rites are conscripted to do menial labor until the end of their days, but those who pass are dubbed Knights of Ioria.

Story: Luka is the second of three Alaryaa daughters. The eldest daughter, Rynn, was promptly excommunicated when she fled Ioria the very day Luka passed her Rites three years ago. The youngest daughter, Naia, failed her Rites just one year ago and was taken to the Temple to become a servant. As servants and Knights do not interact very often, she has not seen or even heard of Naia since...

As the only working Knight of the Alaryaan Clan (her father Ooric fell ill and retired from his warrior monk position after Naia failed the Rites and her mother long since passed), the duty of representing her Clan fell squarely on Luka's shoulders. She takes her job seriously... usually, but is prone to wandering off when excessively bored. Not all Knights are equal: most guard the outskirts of Ioria from intruders, but the Elite- those who perform at the highest standard- are invited into the Temple and are hand-chosen by the Priest himself to become His guardians, of which only four serve at any given time. It is every Knight's dream to become an Elite Guardian, and several Clans vie to have just one member bring glory to them by doing so.

Appearance: By day, she has the appearance of a normal nineteen-year-old girl. She has tan skin, dark auburn hair, dark emerald-shaded eyes, and always wears a constant smirk on her face. By night however, she takes on the form of an anthropomorphic cat creature. This is the Salvation of the Panther-God, Io. Those deemed worthy of protecting those who worship Him can take on His form by night. She can still hold and wield her twin swords in this form, but it's faster and more efficient for her to use her fangs and claws.

Weapons: Twin Sword; hidden dagger strapped to inner left thigh. She sucks with the dagger as she does any short-range weapon which is why it's only there as a last resort.

Yatta yatta: Ioria is a port city, carved into a cliff overlooking the Great Sea. At the highest peak of the steepest cliff sits the Temple of Io, the Panther-God that all citizens who live in the city worship. Legend has it that the city was crafted by the Sea itself, under the will of Io. But even the most devout monks and nuns have come to understand that this is straight BS. The truth is that Ioria was colonized centuries ago by a small band of Io-worshipers, among them a newborn babe with a most curious birth defect (See: Blah blah). This baby would later become the first priestess of Ioria: Matea.

When the city was still young, the people built homes of clay atop the rocky peaks and amongst the crags of Ioria. But as the Great Sea's current grew ever stronger over time, and as the populace steadily grew, more permanent and durable domiciles were carved into the rockface itself. About 400 years after the first pilgrims came to Ioria's shores, miners came to harvest what they believed to be a precious mineral found only where the cliffs meet the Great Sea. The natives accepted them, as their valuable tools expedited the process of home-building threefold. And so a symbiosis was formed.

The miners harvested the lower levels of the Iorian cliffs for the ore, and in exchange their tools would help to build homes into the higher reaches (the cat people like heights. Go figure). But soon, as the ore in the lower reaches began to dwindle the miners overstepped their boundaries, carving higher and higher into the cliffside until their presence was no longer tolerated, and they were driven off forever.

Now Ioria is closed off to Outlanders both friendly or otherwise unless they have the expressed written consent of the Priest himself. Visitors to Ioria must be accompanied by an escort of Knights, for if they come alone they are shot upon sight by Knights that specialize in archery, and if by some miracle they manage to avoid the archers, they are dealt with by Luka, and Knights that specialize in swordplay or hand-to-hand combat. Pirates, bandits, looters, marauders, and all manner of thieves and outlaws all seem to suspect that the highest cliffs hold vast deposits of rich ore, so sieges and stealth visits to Ioria are not uncommon.

Blah blah: Every nine years, a child is born of Iorian blood with the Mark of Io. It can be born of any Clan, as Io shows no nepotism to those that come from common blood or holy blood. The Mark shows that the child was chosen by Io Himself to become the next spiritual leader of Ioria. The Mark itself? It manifests as the form of the panther. When a panther cub is born from a human mother, this child becomes the next priest or priestess of the Temple of Io. The mother, without fail, dies during or shortly after labor and the child is taken away to be raised by nuns.

Other than the obvious being born an anthropomorphic cat detail, Marked Ones are quite different from other children in several ways. The Marked are only allowed to 'be children" for the first three years of their lives. After that, they are expected to undergo a massive shift in maturity, and are forced into strict spiritual conditioning- praying day and night to Io for the safety of the city and its people. The Marked Ones do not eat. They do not sleep. They do nothing but pray until the day they die, always at the age of nine on the same day their replacement is born. Such is the Ioan Cycle.

The current Priest of Ioria is eight years and seven months old. His name is Mateu, named of course after the first Priestess. He has been a fine Priest, but all who serve under the Temple more than prepared for his Returning. The Returning is a luxurious ceremony held every nine years, in which the lifeless body of the last Iorian Priest or Priestess is burned atop a decorated raft sent afloat in the Great Sea. Held simultaneously with the Returning, is the Welcoming ceremony, whereupon the newest Marked One is brought into the world and he or she is paraded about the streets for all Iorian eyes to see before he or she is secluded in the Temple for the remainder of his or her life. There's just one problem that has the entire Temple in an uproar: no expectant mothers in Ioria are expected to deliver on the day Mateu is Returned...

Name: Torv
Background: From a young age, Torv had only one dream: to become the ultimate headbutter. Decades of practice have allowed him to master a unique martial art, Head-Fu, at the minor cost of his long term memory; he can only recall things that happened within a week ago, plus the fact that he is skilled at headbutting. Dozens of professional martial artists have challenged him, but all have fallen to the mighty power of Head-Fu, and all who try shall share their fate.

Other than that, though, Torv has no combat ability whatsoever.

I'm thinking it'll involve different dimensions and/or time travel.

Name: Valeria Nyx
Gender: Female
Age: 21

Bio: Valeria Nyx was born to Benjamin and Hope. She was born into the Ista crafters guild. One of several guilds scattered across the lands. The guilds were known for their master crafts work from smithing, design, art, cooking, and other such trades. The Ista clan was different as they were nomadic in nature. Valeria would spend most of her younger years learning the trades of her people.

Because of Ista's nomadic lifestyle they often "intruded" on areas claimed by other guilds. Even in places where there was already competition no one wanted another member to the party. They were often shunned and pushed out. On top of this, each year there was a Grand Festival, where each guild would send representatives to the years chosen competition spot. The Ista guild would finish last in every event every year. Still, after seeing and tasting some of the goods that the best had to offer her she was deadset at winning the Grand Festival.

She began an unprecedented work ethic to become a master in all the trade skills. By age 10 people called her a prodigy, and at age 13 she was chosen as one of the representatives for the guild, and the only one to compete in every area. She would go on to win the festival for the Ista guild, and would do so for 2 more years.

The fourth festival she attended was judged by a King from the far east, Grogon. The Mazzy guild, one of the strongest, was stationed within his kingdom. It was also this year where she would meet Rupert Gladus, one of Mazzy's competitors. Long story short she became enamoured with him and after the competition (which she won) told him how to find her. This was not such a great idea as this meant that he would be able to find the caravan. As you might have guessed he relayed this information to the King.

A couple of weeks after Valeria's return the caravan would be attacked by Grogan's army. Valeria would become cornered by a couple of knights when out of nowhere someone would rescue her, it was none other than Rupert. He told Valeria to flee and of a place she would be safe. He handed her a small metal coin and told her it was like a membership token. In the time they had she managed to get a special invisibility robe she had made. Just as she got it on a sword thrust through Rupert. She would start the long trek to the next town.

Upon arrival at the town she seeked out the "Hunter Guild" that she was told about. After showing the coin to various people she eventually got a hit and was brought before the guild. After telling them her story they agreed to train her. To this day she had stayed with the Hunter Guild increasing her skills.

Abilities:
She normally wields an oversized mallet, with a pair of daggers at her side if needed. She is deadly with both. The mallet is around twice her size, so she is deceptively strong. Her training at the Hunter Guild has given her several survival and combat oriented skills to compliment/suplement the ones she had with the Ista guild.

She of course is also a world renown cook, artist, and fashion designer. However, she is specially gifted with the ability to make special magical items. She would popularize the "Chain Mail Bikini" a seemingly unprotective piece of equipment that is actually made with magical energy to make it just as strong as the big clunky types.

Physical Appearance
Valeria stands at around 5 foot 2 she has blonde hair that comes down to around her shoulders. Her eyes are green, but will at times glow purple when she is concentrating. Her skin is tanned from her constant time outside.

Personality
Valeria is has naturally become untrusting, even to those within the guild. She rarely partners for jobs. She has declared it her mission to kill King Grogan. She is clever, but will often bite off more then she can chew and barely make it out if situations.

Dimensional clashes definitely sound smart. Looking at the bigger apps, Tenma comes from a darkie fantasy, Luka comes from a medieval-ish but still weird fantasy (or more specifically, a fantasy that reminds me of sci-fantasy like Dragonriders of Pern for some reason), Valeria hails from classic fantasy, and Reid comes from a superhero/comic-style modern setting, as far as heroes go. Then we have the Eternal Eye as an enemy (and so far the only villain), who has very good excuses for being in the thick of a dimensional clash. The smaller apps work very well as secondary characters, or characters that start as bit pieces and grow in importance as the story goes, oddly enough.

Also, it's interesting to note two things, narrative-wise:

A) The Long Four form a classical group according to the Four Temperaments. Broadly speaking, Luka is Sanguine, Tenma is Phlegmatic, Valeria is Choleric and Reid is Melancholic. This is, of course, *very* broadly speaking: in another team Valeria would be an easy fit for the Melancholic temperament, but Reid is such a shy and tech oriented guy he takes the spot by default (and if using an alternate temperament, he'd be a perfect fit for Supine) and Valeria is enough of a go-getter to snag a Choleric position.

B) The same four characters also work eerily well in pairs in pretty much every way. Going with the most obvious combinations, Tenma and Luka are both swordspeople but one of them is dark while the other one is bright, they both have a mystical connection, and they're both related to powerful regimes in some way; Reid and Valeria, meanwhile, are both craftmasters, both of them are slow to connect to others, both of them have weird eyes, and both of them have an interest in someone who is beyond their reach (Subject Amazing Flight for Reid and poor Rupert for Valeria). This could be coincidence, or it could be that great minds think alike. :P

PS: Also Halo, if it isn't too much trouble, bump up Reid's age by 1 and just move any dates listed a year forward. Making him a little less young will probably work out better in the long run, I think.

Whoops, forgot to mention that there's usually a drawing of a very unsettling eye on the current Eternal Eye's clothing, hence the name >_>

Expanded so it's multi-dimensional sounds neat. Also, just realized my characters the only clear villain. Huh.

Yep. Right now we have four highly fleshed out characters, four less fleshed out characters (not counting Plum's since it's *too* open and is pretty much just a name), and one villain, plus extra interest of course. Not a bad turnout for a single day.

ShadowHalo17 posted...
Getting drunk by yourself f*** yeah. That's how I roll too. Lately at least.

I'm drunk by myself right now as I think I've already mentioned a few times.

XD didn't notice this before as I too was drunk by myself. Solo drinking and writing projects are a pretty awesome combination.

Anyway, character details... Looks like a sausage fest so far so I'll go with a female this time

Name: Morgan Everett
Female, early-mid 20s, only known living relative an older brother named Keaton (whereabouts unknown)
Desc: 5'3, athletic, light brown hair (slightly longer than shoulder length), dark brown (nearly black) eyes, dresses plainly (always in comfortable and versatile clothes as she is always prepared for combat).
Background/Abilities: Highly skilled in mixed martial arts and close-range weapons combat and proficient in parkour. Also a natural with any kind of firearm (though she's best with those that are more modern and high-tech). High tolerance to pain and emotionally displaced, showing no hesitation to eliminate anyone or anything seen as a threat and showing no remorse after the fact.

Her brother was a high profile assassin working for an independent organization. Every one of his targets (or the victims that are attributed to him despite utter lack of evidence) was him/herself a murderer, though none had even been suspects in the cases. Keaton was somehow able to know guilt in his victims as if he was a human polygraph, able to get even the most careful and sociopathic killers to confess... and they always did. He was referred to by law enforcement as the "Angel of Death," which he always hated because it was cliche.. Every victim was found with a signed confession, often misinterpreted as a suicide note. His last known victim, a female serial killer known as the "Jackpot Killer," who murdered several people in Las Vegas who had won large sums of money within weeks prior to death, was found without such a note, her neck broken. Keaton disappeared after that and the organization he worked for dispersed.

Morgan was one of the only people Keaton had been in contact with aside from his employers. She had known that in the year before his disappearance, he had become increasingly paranoid about the supernatural, and had even hinted that would consider turning to religion, despite both siblings being lifetime atheists. What concerned Morgan even more was that her own research into the organization Keaton worked for had uncovered ties to the church... thin, obscure ties, but ties that were there. Keaton had talked about facing demons. At the time Morgan assumed he meant his own, as if he had suddenly obtained a conscience. Now, she's not so sure...

Morgan has a more complex and more powerful version of her brother's condition, a unique form of Synesthesia (in which the basic senses become jumbled) that allows her see into peoples' voices (like Keaton, who would interrogate his victims before killing them, watching a picture of their lives painting itself before him simply through their words, even when they lied). For Morgan, that ability is just the tip of the iceberg. She can sense energy signatures, electrical currents, magnetic fields and all kinds of wave emissions through her five basic senses, allowing her to be aware of and interact with any paranormal phenomena around her. She never told her brother about how much more extreme her condition was than his. He had always looked after her and taken care of her, but in actuality she was more than capable of taking care of herself and hid the rest of her world from him so as not to burden him. Now in contact with a new organization formed by her brother's former employer, she hunts not only cold-blooded murderers, but vengeful spirits and demons. Her ability to sense them in any possible fashion makes them completely vulnerable and her training and weapons make it relatively easy for her to slaughter them. She doesn't do it for the sake of good conquering evil though... She believes that Keaton made a discover with his final victim that put him in a situation over his head... and she wants to find him. Being emotionally displaced, she cannot be manipulated or even reasoned with. If her brother is now under the power of a presence he cannot escape from and death is the only release, Morgan is prepared to see it through.

Weapons: She has many weapons at her disposal. Modified handguns, sub-machine guns, modified blades (one combining designs of the Kukri and Machete, a knife that can shoot the blade out of the handle, a titanium combat knife that is non-magnetic, a knife that blasts compressed carbon-dioxide when it stabs into a victim, etc.), EMP devices, incendiaries. Her improvisational combat style also allows her to pretty much use anything around her as a weapon if she needs to. Every supernatural opponent has a way that it can be killed, and Morgan will always make that determination. Then, it's just a matter of execution.

You think it's necessary? The way I see Reid's setting, superhero powers are kind of a 'new thing', barring that mysterious Incident Zero (which is up to Halo to define, if he feels like clearing it up at all) which took place at least a few decades ago and wasn't widespread. Of course, it's perfectly feasible to envision a villainess that would eventually rise with that goal down the line...

Name: Treble Note
Character: The daughter of a corrupt politician from Clef city, she changed her name and ran away at the age of 17 because she was fed up with how he was changing their country into a police state. She is a no-nonsense girl from a world filled with steam-powered machines, gear-operated flying machines, and submarines made of glass. Also uses an enchanted pocket watch which grants her makeshift immortality, she has spent the last 100 or so years wandering time and dimensions. Considers herself an amateur time master and expert mechanic.

Abilities: Though she posses no natural special abilities, Treble keeps an enchanted pocket watch on her at all times. As the gear-operated watch counts down from 11:59 to 12:01, any damage or harmful effects to her body will be reversed as if the flow of time were moving backward away from the point in time at which she sustained damage. On the flipside, if she forgets to wind the watch, loses it for more than 12 hours, or if the watch is destroyed, her form, will instantly age over 100 years (the amount of time she has been using the watch) and she will instantly die and decay.
Equipment: Mechanics kit kept in a hip bag which also contains various nicknacks, leather flight jacket, goggles, motor scooter with a temporal gauge to allow cross-time and cross-dimensional travel, enchanted pocket watch, long barrel revolver.

(Though, that's interesting...that's the third tinker. If we Morgan were primarily a sword user that'd make for three sets of swordspeople and inventors)
