Wow, the episode with the fifth gym battle has already been announced. With the large break between the third and fourth gyms, I figured there'd be large breaks between all the remaining gyms.
The Champ Twins! "Piplup says 'No need to worry!'" "That's when I start worrying the most..." Score: 3/10
The heroes encounter a reporter named Rhonda who works for the TV show Sinnoh Now. She's doing a story on two nearby pokemon trainers, some twins named Ryan and Ryan (cousins of Pete and Pete, no doubt), who are reportedly very powerful and have sixteen straight wins. Wow, what a-- not interesting story at all. These are two ten year-olds with a winning streak. In middle school, I knew a kid named Josh, he was unbeatable at dodgeball, he was just the best. No one ever tagged him out. This is literally like if a reporter came to our school to have a story on the Undefeated Thirteen Year-Old Dodgeball Champion of Los Angeles. This is literally like if that had happened.
Well, Ryan and Ryan have a Croconaw and a Quilava, and they only do tag battles, which are exactly like double battles except theyre called tag battles. Ash and Dawn decide to fight together, so Dawn sends out Piplup and Ash sends out Turtwig because its the worst possible choice for this fight. The reporter is right there, Ash! Youre going to be on TV! Bring your A-game, man, send out Pikachu! Bah.
Ash tells Dawn to have Piplup take care Quilava, but Turtwig dodges an attack into Piplup. Piplup is now so discombobulated that-- "Turtwig is the pokemon with two left feet!" Did... did this show actually just bust out a legitimately clever pun? The flying hell? Anyway, the pokemon start fighting each other, which obviously allows the Ryans to win easily. They act like this is a big victory even though anyone could have beaten Ash and Dawn by just having their pokemon stand still.
After the battle, Ash and Dawn get into a fight about who lost the battle, but after Turtwig and Piplup make up, Ash and Dawn decide to as well. Ash admits that he "can't stand the thought that we lost to those two" even though they seemed competent enough, they had sixteen wins in a row, and its not like their loss is a huge stain on his record or anything, hes only the reigning Orange Island Champi-- oh yeah.
Well, with Ash and Dawn in sync with each other, guess who wins?

I just watched the first Meowth episode and it was hilarious. Nice to see at least one of Team Rocket hasn't lost all of his original spark. I lol'd when Iris tried to catch him seriously. How many more episodes is he going to be with the group?

Look at your quote. Now look at mine. Sadly, your quote isn't mine, but if you watch Adventure Time, it could SMELL like mine. I'm on a rainicorn!
Some Enchanted Sweetening! "I'll be so stylish I'll have to wear sunglasses while everybody laughs at my face!" Score: 3/10
I... don't get it?
The heroes find some honey on the side of a tree, and a variety of forest pokemon are eating it. An incompetent wild Burmy also appears, as does a girl, Cheryl, and her Chansey. When Chanseys attract affects Burmy and confirms its gender, Cheryl excitedly captures it, and tells the heroes that shes a treasure hunter.
When Brock tries his standard come-on, she pulls back and explains that My beloved grandfather once said, 'Once you've caught a bug-type pokemon, you may never hold hands with a man again.' Ive-- I've got to say, Brock. You, uh, you might have dodged a bullet here.
Well, Cheryl is after the Enchanted Honey that's hundreds of times sweeter than normal, and has a map to the Amber Castle, "a secret castle that no one's ever been to, and that's where the enchanted honey is rumored to be." Well, I dont even know where to begin. 1. If no one has ever been to the Amber Castle, how do people even know of its existence? 2. If no one has ever been to the Amber Castle, how are there rumors that Enchanted Honey comes from it? 3. If no one has ever been to the Amber Castle, how have people obtained Enchanted Honey in the past? 4. If no one has ever been to the Amber Castle, how do you have a map to it? 5. If no one has ever been to the Amber Castle, how did it even get that name?
In any case, Cheryl sends out Burmy, and explains that she needs a Mothim's powerful sense of smell to guide her to the honey, so she needs it to evolve. She explains that all three of the Burmy she caught in the past evolved into Wormadan because they're female. And like we all know, biologically, males tend to have a stronger sense of smell than females. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/1796447.stm What I find hilarious about this is that Ash vehemently opposes Pauls method of catching pokemon of the same type in search of the most useful one, but Cheryl is essentially doing the exact same thing except she doesnt release them. I mean, isnt she? Is there any real difference between catching multiple Stantler in search for one powerful enough for your purposes, and catching multiple Burmy in search of one with a powerful enough sense of smell for your purposes? Again, the only difference I see here is that Paul is a jerk while Cheryl is just kind of dumb, which, admittedly, would probably endear her to Ash as they have it in common, but still.
And I didnt even mention that she needs a Mothim even though she has a map.

Ash sends out Turtwig so Burmy can gain some experience. Sadly, Burmy is so weak that Turtwig defeats it by accident. Team Rocket shows up, and in this episode, Jessie remembers that Seviper knows haze, allowing them to escape with it to find the honey for themselves.
Team Rocket takes Burmy to a canyon and tells it to fight Meowth. But its so weak that even Meowth defeats it easily. So in like five hundred episodes, this is Meowths third victory, after Brocks Onix and that one Persian. Good work, Burmy. Good work.
The heroes find Team Rocket using Staravia, and Cheryl asks for Burmy back, explaining that it's "very important to me." Even though she explicitly caught it only because of its use in finding treasure, and Jessie wants to find the Enchanted Honey because its value as treasure, too. Her motives are almost identical to Cheryls. In fact, Cheryls reason for catching Burmy is so shaky that I can even claim that Jessies reasons for catching her own pokemon have been more noble: Lickitung was caught for revenge purposes, Seviper was caught because she likes its underhanded style, Wurmple was caught because she thought it was cute... When revenge is a more noble motive than your motive, you need to examine yourself, Cheryl, and Ive got to say.
Its not looking good for you.
Oh yeah, Burmy evolves, blastoff, etc, Mothim catches the scent of the Amber Castle, To Be Continued.

So Burmy went from like... level 1 to level 20 just like that?
Also, is Cheryl's grandpa gay or something? Why would he say something like that to her unless he himself was never able to hold hands with another man after catching a Bug-type (which is probably why he was forced to settle for Cheryl's grandma [who I'm willing to bet is very butch]).

P.S. Mothim is awesome.
Mothim's okay. Wormadon is crap.

Well, it's catching multiple Burmy in search of a male. Since to these characters, it's real life and not just a game where they can automatically see gender, they can't be sure of which it is. Gen IV just did a bunch of weird stuff by introducing Pokémon that evolve into different forms based on their gender/could only evolve if they were a certain gender. There are five single-gender Pokémon that evolve from Pokémon that could be either gender, and all five are Gen IV (Mothim, Wormadam, Vespiquen, Froslass, and Gallade)
