if what they're saying is true, southwest is pretty much getting their asses sued reaaal quick. and yeah, the passengers complaining about it don't make a lot of sense to me because if you're on a plane you put up with damn near ANYTHING so long as 1) the flight goes off on time, 2) the flight lands where it's supposed to be on time, and 3) it's a safe trip.
fulfill those 3 and i don't care if half the row's banging each other.

The more we learn of what happened (or at least the more we think we learn), the more the airline seems at fault. Do we know how many people actually complained? Did they know each other? Was it a wave of moral panic? Anyways, just because someone complains does not mean the authorities are required to take any action. I mean, were on gamefaqs, we should know this better than anyone.

She did tweet that they were escorted off the plane for getting upset about the issue, but that's ambiguous.
Let's say I gave my loved one a quick peck, and a minute later a stewardess came by and said "I'm sorry, we've received complaints--this is a family airline." Yeah, I probably would get upset, because that would be ridiculous.

Yeah it doesn't sound like the airline did anything wrong here. If they get complaints from other passengers, they're obligated to talk to the passengers causing the disturbance, even if it's something dumb. They can't just say "lol deal with it." And if they got upset because of being asked to stop, and made a scene....well, that's probably grounds for being kicked off the plane.

Private businesses have a right to refuse service to anyone they want for any reason. People refused service also have the right to sue if legitimate discrimination takes place. Both sides of the story come off like complete uneducated idiots, which is nothing new. But given how lesbian actresses turn everything into some crusade about their rights whether or not they even have a point, I have my doubts. Looks like they're making an issue just for the sake of making an issue, but we'll see when the inevitable lawsuit happens I guess. The next gay actress that turns down a lawsuit and a book deal will be the first, because modern Hollywood is a raging s*** hole of moneygrubbers and drug addicts.

Gay people being put to death is pretty common, actually. Several countries still do, such as Egypt, and honestly most of Africa, certain parts of eastern Europe. And as for the genocide squads...uhh, you do know that homosexuals were also executed in Nazi concentration camps, yes? Jews were the most populous demographic that was targeted, but not the only demographic that was targeted.

The problem with this situation is that it's not distinctly anti-gay, it's just a byproduct of this dumbass hyper-sensitive society that we have going on now where people think they have a right to not be offended.
It doesn't matter if some homophobe is offended by two chicks making out, it's a free country and you're allowed to dislike that. But your personal feelings shouldn't affect the rights and privileges of others.
It's the same with a lot of other things. For me it's mostly when I'm making jokes... oh, I can't make a joke about black people because there are black people around? That one's even worse because you have people who are offended by the fact that there might be people being offended, when there could just as easily be nobody offended. It's like people are just looking for any reason to be offended, like they enjoy it or something.

our store has seen profits rise each of the last three years. this probably has more to do with our location; as the two major shopping districts in Vancouver become more commercialized (Robson/Granville, and Commercial Drive), more people in the book-buying demographic are shopping on Main Street. The other trendy part of town, West 4th, has seen a lot of businesses move to Main as well. Then there was the addition of a new transit line near our flagship location, and the release of a new George R.R. Martin book this year.

My mom was gonna take a TSA job, starting at like $22/hr I think. It was a Dulles, which has a lot of experience with security and everyone is an experience flier and such so there's none of those pscyho paranoid people, but she was still like "I dunno, no one likes the TSA nowadays," but then she found a better job anyways.

please provide me with historical evidence that in the greek and roman civilizations that homosexuality was even a concept (hint: it wasn't), let alone that homosexuals were "revered". yes, there were lots of people that had same gender relations, but these people did not have exclusively same gender relations, nor did they have actual relationships. they had a very different culture than we do, and the romans were not really that cool with homosexual relations, particularly the farther you got along in the roman empire...you know, the one that becomes the holy roman empire.
literally a history major who has taken classes on those civilizations.
