From: Forceful_Dragon | #227 Oh and Philadelphia. I keep forgetting that St Louis is still half a game up on us and so we have to pass them too. But hopefully the Phillies stay strong even though they've already clinched their spot. I'll be cheering for them quite a bit as the season winds down.
Yep... I'm gonna purchase MLB TV on my PS3 right now since it's just $10 for the last week and a bit of the season. Since now I'm invested in 4 different teams (Giants/DBacks/Braves/Cards) I figure it will be well worth it.
What's the Phillies' magic number to clinch home field throughout? They have a 9 game lead on the Brewers, but there are slightly more than 9 games remaining.

neon, I knew you were getting old but I didn't think you were THAT old.
doesn't matter how old you are when you have a baby!
They would win the head-to-head tiebreaker since they have a winning record over the Brewers, and "which team has home field" is not something MLB plays a Game 163 to break a tie for.

Yeah, once you said that I was like "oh crap, if they still have games left against the Brewers then it's 2, since the tiebreaker isn't decided yet" but then when I looked that up I realized that they did not.

Well they're making it interesting now. Narrowed it from a three run game to a one run game in the ninth, and have a runner on first with two outs and Pence at the plate.
And of course my cable went out just before this inning started so I have to watch this through the play-by-play.

Man, loving this purchase already. Watched the Phillies barely miss the comeback and then switched feeds just in time for the last couple at bats in Florida. Now cheering on the Pirates...
It's a shame Tampa doesn't have any hometown fans, otherwise I think people there would **** themselves in excitement when the Orioles pull off this comeback.

tough shakes for Youk, he's a manly man for playing with two injuries that would end the season for like 95% of the league, though it's obviously just not working out.
Sox have to back into the playoffs, and then we have 3 starts from Beckett/Lester and a solid lineup, and I think Clay will be ready for the ALCS, which means Beckett/Lester/Clay/Bedard and a good lineup. You probably want to play them instead of the Rays, given how great and consistent the Rays pitching has been and how old and lazy Boston has looked, though to be fair I've watched 3 games in the past few weeks.

Donny: Are they gonna hurt us, Walter? Walter: No, Donny. These men are cowards.
why dont you grow up if seeing my Braves get knocked out of the playoffs makes you happy then thats fine by me i dont care im about done watching baseball anyway im glad the season all most over anyway

i am the game you people are still just the players WINNER OF 1 V-TOKENa.nd Gold Trophy
yesterday: D-backs won which is sad ;_; Atlanta lost again which is yay ^_^ (3.5 games back !!) Cardinals won (again!) which is also sad.
Pretty standard stuff today: Go Giants! Go Pirates! Go Marlins! Go Mets!
We're pitching Lincecum tonight which is always good news, but Kershaw is the dodger's ace as well. Hopefully our amazing hitting will hold up. If the giants keep swinging like they have been these past 2 weeks then they will hit him anyways.
It wont be "gg" if the braves win today and we lose, but it will be damn near it.
Yeah, I've watched the last couple Lincecum vs. Kershaw matches and they've been pretty good although they didn't mean too much for either team at the time. Now the Giants are in must-win mode and I'm sure the Dodgers will try their hardest to give Kershaw the Cy, so it should be a great game.

Yeah, I would much rather us having closed the gap on Arizona and fell .5 back from the Braves than the other way around. Having no games against Atlanta makes any potential mistake that much costlier.
This is why I wanted the Braves to keep it close. We win the division and stop trying to win. I can't believe I'm saying this, but Kyle Kendrick deserved better. So much for the franchise record in wins.

Rad Link 5 posted... In his defense, he's taken requests from me and done a really good job with them, so it's not like that's the only song he knows how to play. In fact maybe I just have really bad timing and he actually plays a whole ton of songs. But that's the only song I've heard him play without a request.
or maybe he just tends to make the most when he does that song and he figures that most people are not likely to pass by him enough times to be bothered by it.
