i've been wondering this for a while now, so maybe someone can answer it.

if pokemon is put on the 3DS' eshop, would it be possible to trade with other people too? that's the main question that really should exist. even if you can't trade online, can you trade locally at the least? or would it be a single player only you're screwed kind of deal.

same issue exists with Mario Kart Super Circuit. it'd be pretty sweet if they actually enabled online connectivity for these multiplayer heavy GBA games.

It'll be a remake, some sort of new coliseum game or a portable side-quest title. Nintendo aren't ambitious enough to try something like an MMO.

there's a couple things they can do on the 3DS really. i mean they already HAVE the pokedex there. more space, better things can be done, some new moves, and better advanced settings for getting online.

Eh, not really. To follow tradition, any new game wouldn't be out in Japan until next September-ish (and then March-May for the US), which would be two years since B/W. That's pretty much right on schedule.

You could even say it's late, considering HG/SS came out a year after Platinum, and B/W came out a year after that.

okay, i've got it. Wii U game. Pokemon Universe.

new pokemon game. you play the role of a trainer in ONE of the regions that's been made thus far. you go through it, beat the elite 4 etc. then the rest of the world unlocks and you get to explore those regions and get those badges too. very much like GSC, only with every region there.

except none of those people know who you are either. and each region has their elite 4 that got beaten by someone at roughly the same time you did, and not all are good. one area in fact didn't have a hero and the team rocket/plasma/etc group actually succeeded and he's with the legendaries of that region under his control. another one was just you.

after you beat the game you find out there's an ultra elite 4, made up of the champions that already existed. Red, Gold, etc are all there, with LV100s to greet you and beat your ass in.


finally, there's an online only area that exists after you beat them. it's a place only champions get to go to, and in it you have an MMO style situation happen with other trainers who got that far.

(somewhere, nintendo came up with this idea before going 'nah let's just make a game with ho-oh and lugia! and other stuff that i don't know.' that or i'm just the employee they really need.)
