No, Blazblue 1 had a small selection of characters too. Sprites take a lot of work and their budget isn't that big.

Confirmed so far are Aigis, P4MC, Chie and Yosuke. You can also kind of see some other faces in the cards on the screen. Left of the P4MC looks like 2 females, one of which is Aigis. Right of Chie looks like Kanji to me.

BlazBlue only had ten characters when it was first released in arcades and ended up picking up two new playables on its way to consoles. Unless your concern is less about roster quality and more about who's actually getting in.

There's almost no way that's the final select screen. The game's not coming out for almost a year, that's a ton of time for development left. As it is now they couldn't even fit the full parties from both games on that screen, let alone characters who aren't party members who HAVE to be in the fighter, like Adachi.

If they're going to have an actual story in the game, then we probably don't see many Persona 3 characters. They moved on.

They can probably throw in whoever they want regardless of what time the game takes place. The story probably isn't going to be considered canon by anybody anyways. I always wanted a P3/4 crossover game, but I didn't think it would end up as a fighting game.

10-12 seems like an alright amount for this.

Main Character, Chie, Yosuke, Yukiko, Kanji, Teddie -- good set from P4. I'd want more, but you probably have to put some P3 characters in there. Haven't played that so I have no idea how those would go.

Probably not much, seeing as how the premise of the game is the Persona 4 cast and also Aigis beating the crap out of each other.

Having it actually be a canon story lessens the chance of P3 characters and Adachi being included, too. I had always expected them to tie together the stories of P3 and P4, but not like this!

Also, people are forgetting Elizabeth and Margaret! I'd bet one of those two will definitely be playable.

I hope the Ken hate is universal. If there are so few spots I'd hate for him to take up one of them that a much better character could take up. If Naoto doesn't make it in and they do fan responses for 1-2 more characters or something Naoto would most likely make it in. I remember reading somewhere that Naoto is in the top 3 for popularity of Persona characters or something.

Arcade Mode: Face off against CPU opponents while following the story

Story Mode: Delve deeper into the arcade mode's story. This will be exclusive to the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game.

Score Attack Mode: Face off against CPU opponents to get the high score

VS Mode: Face off against a CPU or human opponent

Online Battle: Face off against players throughout the world in online combat

The game will include original stories for all its included characters, which come from both Persona 4 and Persona 3. The overarching story is set two months after the events of Persona 4. The characters appear on a fighting program called "P-1 Grand Prix."

Didn't read through the topic, and since this is a portable release I'm not counting on it, but original voice cast please!

I really hate english speaking people calling each other senpai, etc.

I would say fully voiced social links were probably a big request, but since P4V has even more dialogue they probably did that or just added a lot more scenes than I am thinking. Battle costumes would've also been a guess for fan requested, but it's already listed. The date-sim part makes the most sense to me.
