It's been confirmed there will be no female protagonist, apparently.

Development moved to PlayStation Vita where the team believed they could make a game with even more features than the original. Persona 4: The Golden will not have a female protagonist, though.

I'm interested in Mari, though, since they seem to be playing her up as more than just a social link character. Are we going to get a new party member, or perhaps even some kind of add on to the story?

Someone theorized that Mari might be in charge of the "call for back up" system or something.

Mostly because of the V badge on her hat and the whole mysterious bull crap.

Smart money's on the full P4 cast being in (Minus Rise for obvious reasons) with only three P3 characters.

With two left, I can't imagine Mitsuru being left out, since in terms of plot relevance she's right behind Aigis.

That Chie costume looks great and Mari has an absolutely amazing design. I hope she'll be a new party member. Dictator Teddie looks awesome and will hopefully be a costume in P4V. Also apparently P4V was originally going to be made on the PSP, but they wanted it to be as close to the PS2 version as possible and said that wasn't possible on the PSP. Apparently you can ride a bike in P4V too for some reason.
