XFD yes this was awesome

I think it was Rocky vs. one of those giant Transformers (Unicron, I want to say)?

Anyway, Rocky was at the peak of his powers. Ed quantified this by saying he received 5 training montages at once, one for each movie. The logic went that because Ivan Drago punched hard enough to break steel, and this Super-Rocky would seriously outmatch Ivan Drago with 5 montages, Rocky would be able to punch through Unicron and find its control centre or whatever and make him self-destruct from the inside.

The matches started getting more and more into personal interpretations of really vague elements of characters powers and less and less attached to anything resembling the way the characters actually behaved. That's really what the "GameFAQs Flash" thing was, though it was by no means limited to Flash; character X has power Y, and has never, EVER done action Z, but it's theoretically possible if you twist the wording on page 34 of book A so they're going to use it instantly at the start of every fight ever!

Comic characters are really easy to fix: "Comic characters must have a specified arc/era to draw feats from. Feats from outside that era do NOT count unless they are 100% covered by feats actually shown in the chosen era, beyond a shadow of doubt.". Yes, the characters remain overpowered, but now you can't cherrypick. Silver Age Supes does silver age stuff period and doesn't get to outrun double blackholes. Super Flash doesn't get other tricks, etc.
