Hmm... you know what, you might have a point. World is definitely my favorite of the three, but I've played it often and the last time I did so (a few months ago), it just didn't feel as awesome. Might take LttP since I haven't played it in years and only played through it twice.

As someone who grew up with a Sega Megadrive/Genesis, I think Super Mario World is extremly overrated (It's still good, but DKC2 is way better).

Super Metroid and Lttp on the other hand deserves as much praise as they get. I think I'll actually go with Lttp here, but Super Metroid is also awesome.

To me that better describes Mario 64, Ocarina of Time, and Majora's Mask (although SM64 is still an all-time favorite of mine and the latter two come real close): I believe that if they were released today they wouldn't grab such monster critical acclaim compared to in their own times. Star Fox 64 probably would, but that's it for the N64.

For me the only real advantage of Metroid Fusion over Super Metroid is that Fusion is scarier. Though I don't play Metroid games to get scared (even then, I played through Fusion, Prime, Super Metroid, and Other M all last year in that order about exactly one year ago, and all four gave me light scares. Funnily enough, I did not find Resident Evil 4 to be all that much scarier!).
