The irony is that TNA markets itself as "wrestling matters" but its television is mainly focused on non-wrestling stuff.

Meanwhile, WWETV is largely focused on wrestling, and yet uses its marketing to try and convince the audience that absolutely zero wrestling is taking place.

The whole thing is very odd...

- WWE champion Alberto Del Rio was not at Raw last night due to the fact that he has returned to Mexico to secure a new work visa. The paperwork did not come through, which is why he was not back for Raw last night. Until the paperwork comes through, Del Rio will not be legally allowed to work in the United States. As of this time, the Del Rio vs. Sin Cara match is off of tonight's Super Smackdown taping.

Some people on the PWB were talking about it looking like Nash was hurt, either heading out to the ring or after doing his segment with Punk. lolPWB and all but it's possible that's true. Or maybe it's fake and they just changed for no reason, could explain why they didn't have the Punk/HHH segment shown in a way that anyone could even hear it over Cena's music if they rushed to fit it in and didn't tell whoever would control such things. Or maybe it's all BS and they meant to do it all along.

It didn't get shouted down or anything, but it was definitely a fairly lukewarm reaction with a few boos thrown in. Certainly not what you'd want to hear in response to a match that's supposed to be big and important, especially when it's a guy that people are interested in (Punk) against a guy that the crowd has seemed to be eager to see get his ass kicked.

I was assuming it was all a part of the "Triple H booking himself in the Main Event again" storyline that's sorta looming. The announcers and Punk kinda called him for it on Summerslam. I expected a disgruntled Nash next week complaining about Triple H tossing him out of the match.

I also didn't really notice people booing Punk/Nash. Is that true or is that wrestling topic hyperbole?

I think the fact that they even considered Punk/Nash just proves that they really don't get why Punk is popular AT ALL. It's like, they think that Punk's fanbase hates Nash, which is true, but not in a "we can't wait to see Punk destroy this guy" way but in a "we're not interested in watching this guy on our TV at all" way. It's a pretty big difference that they don't seem to understand at all.

I should clarify even more. It's not even Nash that the Punk fanbase hates. It's that the entire situation represents everything Punk is fighting against, namely that it's incredibly insulting to the intelligence of the audience. We're seriously supposed to believe that a 50 year old man with two bad knees represents a credible threat to a guy who just last month was standing toe to toe with John Cena? Apparently yes. And why? BECAUSE HE'S REALLY TALL!!

That type of stupidity is not going to energize the Punk fanbase, it's going to drive it away.

I like Punk and I would not mind seeing Punk vs Nash once. I think Punk could carry that to make it a good enough match, assuming Nash isn't completely broken down.

I would like to think a lot of the people who support Punk like what he's saying about change. Nash in the main event is change <_<
